The closest historical comparison is The Texas Revolution and The Alamo. Santa Anna succeeds in taking the Alamo and killing (almost) everyone, but ultimately loses because he underestimates how stupid, stubborn, and vengeful the "Texians" can be. I figure it's another three weeks before Vily's unironically referencing the Arya-as-Walder "leave one wolf alive" meme.

Oh man, taking the 49- ihub is really helping them out! Hostiles really hosed up by wasting time on that poo poo. If we do win this war, I suspect it'll be because hostiles faffed about until 9/15, when our vulns changed to their weakest timezone.

PAPI Dreadnought and carrier attempted a rescue and were defeated. Imperium fleets scrambled and saved 20 out of 30 friendly Dreadnoughts. PAPI subcap fleets chased hostiles out of system and held the field, but the Dreadnought hulks were already destroyed and not salvageable. I was part of the Ferox fleet. We undocked 2 minutes after the alert and got a Titan bridge into the next door system, and jumped in. Got on 5 Dreadnought kill mails and a Sabre before getting trapped in the bubbles on a perch and missing the escape out of system. In this picture you can see some of the hostile Dreadnought wrecks.

I figure after 4 years it's time for me to lose Eve again, so I've reapplied (I think?) Got about 60mil SP in subcaps - judging from the last few pages and zKill I should be brushing up on my Jackdaw, Ferox and Rokh skills... anything else get called for a lot?

The founding corps of it were also more interested in roaming piracy than land-holding; I remember a lot of their original members were a bit  when PL itself was first formed because it seemed to drift from the original purpose. Those days are long, long in the past, though.I would imagine they recruit from all over these days, but founding corps of Pandemic Legion (like Snigg) are some of EVE's oldest entities and I would imagine a lot of "old school" folks, the ones still left, gravitate in that direction.

IIRC it started with them living off something like a few percentage of dividends worth 250b ISK/month but by the time it ramped up basically all of the casino's profits were being funneled into trying to exterminate all of goondom. Then the casinos got banned.

Went on my first fleet since 2016, was chill and enjoyable although some goons still have diarrhea of the mouth. No chatter still rocks, 10/10 would be antisocial again

For the most part, members of Goonwaffe seem fine on comms. All the slurs, maga poo poo, and weird accidental beavis/butthead imitation I've encountered comes from two of the pub corps. I did find that I needed to up my skill training for some stuff I used to do fine in 2016, so if any other vets are coming back definitely check the fits and set skills even if you're just dicking around.
