It's confirmed in the discord and stuff.

If you get five gold boxes from Akashi then that means you maxed affection, btw.

No surprise the Akashi quest isn't in yet, since it requires doing stuff on stages we don't have unlocked.

So is Z23 only available through Build in EN, or can she also be gotten Chapter 2+ like CN?

I've gotten like 4 from drops and literally no other starter. I picked her as my starter.

We've got CN drop/build pools it seems.

Even though it's the JP client and graphics.

After a week of farming 3-4 I managed to get 3 SSR drops today. All of them Kaga who I already have :negative:

Are any of the retro-fits in the EN version worth going out of your way for?

Enjoy the free limit breaks I suppose? I got one spare Kaga in my 3-4 grind but today, oh blessed day:

Now I can move on with leveling my best, getting retrofit parts and so on.

I started retrofitting my Langley for the reload buff, not sure if I'm going any further though.
Don't know what else can be retrofitted at the moment even though many retrofit skills can be seen in the info screens.

Of all the ships I have only Suffolk, Bogue and Langley can be retrofit. Suffolk I'm doing at the moment and she's getting pretty good. Bogue and Langley both look pretty awful, are either actually worth completing?

langley gets a skill that massively boosts reload speed for other escort carriers, which gets kind of silly once you realize that a) launching a carrier strike cancels all enemy shots on the screen and b) the two best other escort carriers heal the frontline whenever they strike and c) escort carriers are stupidly oil-efficient for what they do

grrarg

Don't lose your head over it.
Training retrofit skills on the early retrofits is kind of a trap. Skill training is the main bottleneck of the game, and time spent training sub-par skills on Langley or whatever is time not spent training ships with more long-term potential. Do the retrofits for stat boosts, alternate art, and collection completion percentage, not the skills.

I think the only early retrofit skills worth training would be on Cygnet and Fortune because you will always have more blue books than you can use. Cygnet's smoke is decent for manual PvE, and Fortune becomes a good option for a PvP fleet.

Might be a silly question but: for 3-4 do you have better ods of getting both foxes if you clear it all or do they just have a chance to drop from the boss boat?

It is only a drop from the boss. You can see what can potentially drop from each node in the Reward window on the pre-battle screen. It won't show the specific drop until you actually get it, but if you click on the bote silhouette, it will open a window with all potential bote drops. The yellow background indicates that a potential SR drop is possible on the boss node. The non-boss nodes only show up to purple (elite) rarity.

Ah! That's where I was confused, I thought it would be SSRs but that's due to other games :D

I'll just keep farming that then and despair. Thanks!

How does the game define "battles" for abilities that trigger when health drops below a certain% like Yorktown and Phoenix?

Is it once per engagement/enemy or once per stage?

What's a decent all-rounder fleet layout (by ship-type, not specific ship). Every time I google this I just get people listing specific ships which is super unhelpful unless you have those ships (and I hate following exact cookie cutter builds anyway in these types of games). Just a general layout is more useful, I think.

I run three cruisers with two carriers and a single battleship for my American fleet. The Northampton girls have good synergy. I don't like waiting on torpedo cooldowns so I tend to not use destroyers often.

This has carried me up to 4-3 with few issues this far.

There are a lot of different configurations that work and ship class does not mean a lot so you really have to go by specific ships. Anyway, generally you want at least one Battleship or Battlecruiser in the back line, they can use their auxiliary gun to help defend against the kamikaze boats. You can go all BB/BC but at least one Aircraft Carrier is good since they clear torpedos and such from the screen when you launch them. For the front line I favor light cruisers since they have good offence and decent evasion, overall I have found them to be more durable than heavy cruisers, however there are exceptions like Portland who is very durable and has high evasion for a heavy cruiser. Destroyers can be very good but even with very high evasion they can be fragile since one lucky hit can take off a lot of HP, I recommend purple repair boxes from 3-4 for them along with backline ships that can heal like Unicorn, Shouhou and Arizona.

There isn't really such a thing aside from "don't put 3 heavy cruisers on the same team" the actual ships are pretty important. Just stick 3 gun cruisers (2 gun slots) on the same team if you really want to be lazy, but if hate 'cookie cutter builds' then you probably should just make your own teams instead of asking. It's not like it matters once you're 30 levels above whatever you're farming

I've been using 1 DD, 2 cruisers for the front lines just to get the 3 starter DDs leveled which you need to do if you want the 4th one and to complete the hard stipulations easily. If you want to see all the game stages you're going to need to level a whole buncha poo poo anyway. Just pick what works for you as a core fleet and use the other fleets to level ships.

Personally I'm using 3 carriers because Enterprise, Kaga and Akagi utterly steamroll things in a hilarious manner. This is non-optimal but I pair them with my best evasion DD and cruisers (Javelin, Belfast, Shropshire) so it works out. 30 seconds of misses then BOOOOM everything is gone. Enterprise is fully LB'd and just passed L80, purple and gold gear not even fully enhanced and she has > 340 air power.

If I had hood or lizzie I'd be doing things differently, build with what you have and don't worry too much if you have the best or right ones.

They added swimsuit costumes to the gem shop and chapter 6 last night if you haven't been reading notifications. There's also a Gear skin box for 7000 coins that apparently just changes a weapon to look like school supplies.

Saratoga's Artillery Cover has been quite useful and I've been leveling that right now.

The skins are just for whales to pay for the game, they have no intrinsic value or benefit. Assuming you're not beating your meat to this then you might call the swimsuit an advantage?

It's 500-800 gems a suit without the 20% off sale. Someone has to buy the $9.99 - $14.99 recharge to get one suit. Technically you can grind for them but that's a lot of finishing levels and not spending anything on upgrades.

Hell GBF charges 30$ for 1 outfit (+ a 10 roll I guess for really low rates) so yeah that's pretty cheap considering how the gacha works or how SRs are even farmable.
