You still get the damage reduction on normal stages which is great. it doesn’t apply to the current event unfortunately wouldn’t want to make those sixty runs for the purple carrier any easier

akagi and kaga are good carriers with good stats but youll probably get a hiryuu and souryuu long before you get the fox twins and theyll serve you just as well

my main fleet has been using saratoga and enterprise for ages even after akagi and kaga dropped because they have far more interesting skills and I can use them in separate fleets for hard modes without neutering their effectiveness also farming is boring and new players need a variety of ships more than they need two specific ones apart from the ones already mentioned long island and ranger are perfectly serviceable carriers on the cheap if you need them

general events like this go: base story maps are A and B and cap out around the mid lv 50s the hard modes are C and D will go to around lv 90, they give more base event currency but don’t have daily 3x bonuses you don’t need to do hard modes to finish missions unless you want the vanity housing item or to do extremes extremes require finishing D3, are lv 100 or 110, cost no oil to enter or sortie, award nothing but internet points, and are total horseshit

if you go into Memento -> Memories (left hand column), then filter by Ships (top right) you can see all the ships that have side quests akashi and long island are the only two i recall that give something other than token resources and a couple retrofit blueprints
