In WHL news The Kootenay Ice are moving to Winnipeg next season. I can't say this is a terribly big surprise, they've been struggling for years and they were in kind of an odd place being in the Eastern Conference despite being located in British Columbia and closer to several Western Conference teams than their own divisional rivals. Of course with this they're now the easternmost team in the league so I don't know how well that will work. Also with this Winnipeg now has an NHL, AHL, and a WHL team in its city.

Yeah that's a crowded market in Winnipeg for sure. I never understood why the Ice weren't in the B.C. division as it would've balanced the conferences. There's going to have to be some divisional re-alignment because the Ice going east just makes things even more unbalanced now. Anyhow, I wonder what, if anything, this means for Nanaimo. I know the WHL really wants another team on the island, but Nanaimo voters recently shot down an arena proposal, so who the hell knows at this point...

Somehow WBS beat Cleveland 7-2 on Friday than forgot how to pass the puck on Saturday. Jarry made 30+.saves but lost 2-1 on the softest goals. I don't understand this team. Though they got a penalty against Cleveland I've never seen. Summers got a 10 minute than the genius behind the bench put him on the ice for a face off, leading to a 2 minute minor for "ineligible player on the ice." In franchise news, there was an article in the local paper that said the league is not worried about our team leaving since they haven't asked for arbitration yet. Since the arena board owns the AHL franchise agreement, and Pittsburgh owns the team, I guess they need to ask for arbitration before they can leave the city. That means it seems like I will most likely still have a hockey team next year+
