If En Masse Entertainment were smart they would handle it like Bioware does for Star Wars the Old Republic, where you choose which characters to have disabled until you buy the necessary character slots.

That's a smart solution.

Archiving/disabling characters is much better than

quote:

No characters will be automatically deleted during the merge. However, once the merge is complete, if you have more characters than available character slots, you will need to delete characters until you have enough available slots before you can play on that server.

Yep. As someone with like 30 TOR characters this is acceptable. Hell, some games just let you keep playing all the characters without even disabling them. This is the most backwards handling of a merge I've ever seen.

It's almost worse that they're telling the players to delete them rather than doing it themselves too. Like, "pick which of your children die".

I got tired of Ridge Racer 7 so I had a crack at Resistance: Fall of Man and god drat this difficulty is ridiculous. I'm on standard difficulty and I can't get more than ten minutes into the game without dying because there's no regenerating health and no health packs. The hell?

Oh yeah, Tera doesn't have account-bound unlocks does it? So gently caress you if you have cash shop purchases spread across your characters. Jesus. It feels like it should be well known enough how to keep a F2P game in maintenance mode these days with so many doing it, is En Masse known for being dumb?

I expect poo poo like this from NCSoft and that's about it.

There's health packs and regenerating health after the prologue/tutorial. iirc the former are pretty rare though and I remember it being decently challenging even on Normal back in the day even if some sections were bullshit. Too bad the franchise's campaigns went downhill after that one. R1 was a pretty fun classic FPS with console sensibilities, R2 was a COD rip-off with a tiny health pool (almost everything kills you instantly), 2 weapon limit and regenerating health and while R3 was an improvement it took a ton of inspiration from HL2 so I recall it having quite a few chapters that try to shoehorn in some gimmick if the game isn't forcing you to stand somewhere while someone talks to you incessantly.

Capcom must've built Maximo Army of Zin on Devil May Cry's engine because he has the same moveset and can hulk out into Death.

Ah. The revolutionary design choice to prevent false choices by taking away choices, mostly because you think the audience is too stupid to understand things like "decisions and conversations".

This gives me such bad Fallout 4 vibes. Oh well, I've never been hyped for Anthem, but I was looking forward to Dragon Age. RIP Bioware

I was tricked by the charming trailers. It made City of Heroes demise easier to swallow, then it actually came out.

E: the Wildstar thread here on SA was something else. It turned into a hilarious mock thread with one masochistic (but really nice) dev who kept coming back.

This first game is still good as much as I dislike Ratchet's abrasive personality. It's also strange how weighty the game feels considering nearly every 3D platformer is about weighty, agile characters. Ratchet feels like he weighs 500lbs but it's okay because the game is more focused on action than precision.
