Junior enters with indecent haste, rain cascading from her coat and spattering the slightly oily duracrete floor. She thumbs the switch that folds her umbrella and risks a glance back at the street before walking further in to the shop. She's met Len before but he's more Knack's friend, so she doesn't feel bad about semi-discretely looking around for a quick exit while waiting for the Tinker to speak.

As the shots ring out Junior reaches for her pistol...which is securely locked in a safe on the Future, separate to it's ammunition and in Lotus's quarters. Probably for the best, there's already one person bleeding.

Knack posted:

"Tunnels? Figure they'll just grab us if we go through the restaurant. Can't exactly outrun em with these"

"Yeah, tunnels is good. Hope they haven't got a lookout down there."

Hauling her pack on she makes an apologetic gesture at Len. "Sorry, oppa. Didn't mean to bring you trouble."

314-R8 is the first into the tunnels, flying ahead to scout and report back.

A little delivery truck waits around the corner, it's programmed route overridden by Knack's efforts. Junior looks at it with an expression of mild distaste.

"A ride, huh?"

It's...not pretty. 1 seat and a flat tray for cargo. But in these close streets it's the next best thing to an electrobike. And at least the cab has a roof. She hops in and starts messing with the controls.

Having finished the wild ride with a bootlegger turn to let Knack out straight on to the ramp, Junior then tries futilely to raise the dockmaster's office and has to be satisfied with leaving a rude message about 'obstructing Guild certified couriers' on his answering service. As the electrobikes and more trouble arrives she sends R8 to start pre-flight checks, including querying the ATC to make sure the path to orbit is clear. She stows away the little truck (no sense leaving evidence of crime behind, right?) and then the cherry red custom model that Lotus arrives in with a little more enthusiasm.

"Hello, sweet thing. Don't worry, momma's gonna take good care of you!"

Dashing to the cockpit to continue warming the ship up she notes a minor reactor malfunction...and then the alerts corresponding to the landlock all shut off at once.

"Knack, what did you do? Are we going to spray rads all over the place on the way out?"

It's just banter, really. She trusts him to care about the ship and safety as much as she does, in his own eccentric fashion.

Nue puts the Neon Future in an inconspicuous track for a high Aleph orbit, not committing to a jump point. It's only at this stage she notices the damage to Knack's glove and (presumably) the hand underneath. Concern for her crew overrides her respect for the mechanic's stoicism.

"You should let the doc look at that. Burns can get infected even inside a vac suit."

It's not an order, but there is a suggestion in her voice she'd be disappointed if he didn't do it right away.

Heading to the lounge she finds the doctor already self-medicating for his own stress, and puts up her hand for a soothing herbal tea.

"I vote we open it. In an airlock in case it's something unpleasant."

"Can't we just, y'know, bwoosh?"

Junior mimes dumping the artifiact out of the airlock and allowing it to tumble into the gravity well of a nearby gas giant or star.

"Failing that maybe we ought to try returning to sender. Citani can't be too pissed off, we made a good faith effort to deliver."

"Alright, fine, sure. Hope you like being haunted by Way ghosts or catching Mu flu."

Junior very maturely sticks her tongue out at Kinase's back as she leaves the room.

Neon Future doesn't have a dedicated vehicle workshop yet, so Junior sets up in a corner of the cargo bay with the little cargo hauler and the remains of the second electro-bike. A little kit bashing and a lot of swearing might just make something the crew can use to ride in (no) style and (limited) comfort. It's simple work compared to ship systems, if a little time consuming. At this stage there seem to be a lot of spare parts in no real order.

"Well, if we want an easy in and out we could pick up a load of maintenance supplies for transport. I grew up on stations like that, and the scrubbers and filters are always under stress. T'kala could route a shipment for us without too much trouble, and it would give us an excuse to meet the maintenance crew and extract our passenger. Load her into an empty container, back on the ship, and fly off to the jump point smooth as silk. If we want some noise to cover us I hear Yast Jor is a racing junkie, and I'll bet Choss would jump at an opportunity to show off."

Infiltration. Not daring, but simple. Exploits a systemic weakness of the target. Makes use of friendly contacts. Operating against an enemy in control of the location. 2d engagement.

Junior keys her communicator. Aware that transmissions here will probably be monitored, she chooses her words carefully.

"Hey gang, sorry to cut short your R&R but I need more hands on for unloading. Legion are doing checks on outgoing traffic and we won't be clear of the station before the race starts with just these drones working. Try and make it sharp, we might have clients interested in us."

When the drones are inside the ship she surreptitiously tries to override their OSHA coding to get them unloading a little faster. It...doesn't work out.

A little brute force cryptography later and the drones are overclocked, but it's messy, obvious, and definitely voids the warranty.

Two hours is two hours too long, but that's a problem for at least after this cargo is unloaded. Right now, Junior wants to know who these creeps in robes are and why they find Neon Future C'est la Vie so interesting. Robes usually mean religious figures, and growing up in a cult gives you a decent set of tools for approaching people with delusions of holiness. She takes a stroll up to the observation gallery and gets a tube of water from the concession stand before approaching them.

"Greetings, brothers. (sisters? comrades? hard to tell.) A fine day to be engaged in a purpose, is it not? I couldn't help but notice you looking at my ship. If you're looking to have some cargo transported there's none finer! As swift as a swordfish!"

@thatbastardken "Junior": 2d6k1 how do you do, fellow cultists = (2+1) = 2

The blank looks she gets back suggest that her slight emphasis on the possible code phrases hasn't been received well.

Wincing at the pressure on her arm Junior raises her other hand in apparent surrender, her mind whirring through escape plans. Having no real idea what these people want she talks frantically to buy some time:

"Ah! Hey, ow, what the hell, dude? No need for the artillery, I'll get it for you!"

And when there's a sudden break in her interrogator's concentration as the lift opens and Lotus pulls a gun on her captors she fires her wrist-mounted grappling hook at a support beam high over the loading dock, hoping to whisk herself out of the line of fire:

The grappling hook makes a quiet whirring sound as it retracts, a comedic accompaniment as Junior stands there looking sheepish. When the Legionnaires arrive at the foot of the cargo hauler she plays dumb, hoping to keep eyes on her and not on the cargo for as long as possible.

"Uh...is there a problem, officers? There was a queue for the elevator and I was in a hurry."

When a shot rings out she doesn't have to fake flinching.
