New Mechanic: Unlockable Ships Now that we have ships and XP, let's talk about unlockable ships. These are new versions of certain ships or in some cases entirely new ships. For Season 1 it's just Upgrades, but later seasons it's possible to unlock ships such as the E-Wing or K-Wing. So unlockable ships have a XP cost, once unlocked they are treated like a new ship you can buy. For upgrade ships, people with one of the versions of that ship can switch over for free when they're first unlocked. Also, when a future upgrade is unlocked for the same ship type, the lower version can be subtracted from the cost at the price of no longer being separately accessible. For Season 1, the unlock options are: A-Wing Mass Production Model Unlock Cost: 2 Effect: Hull value + 1, Missile Upgrades get a free Munitions Token, 4 and 5 Straight Moves are white instead of green. HWK-290 Alliance Overhaul Unlock Cost: 10 Effect: Your upgrade bar gains the Illicit Cargo, Bomb, and Bomb upgrade icons. Pallas Upgrades I am thinking about paying for the co-ordinate action and Backup Shield Generator (cargo 3xp) - At the end of each round, you may spend 1 energy to recover 1 shield (up to your shield value). The recover action takes all of a ship's energy tokens so I think it might be better to usually take some other action and use the backup shield generator to keep the shields topped off. Thoughts? Rhjamiz, Rage combos really well with Comms Booster (cargo 4xp) ENERGY: Spend 1 energy to remove all stress tokens from a friendly ship at Range 1-3. Then assign 1 focus token to that ship. For teams both the gunnery (1 guaranteed hit) and engineering (+1 energy with straight moves) sound good.
