So for a while I've gone back and forth between using the fairly well known and popular website imgur to host images and this other website, https://imgbb.com. I got frustrated with using imgur partly because of the annoying and somewhat assholish culture that it seems to have engendered, and later on due to the fact that I tried to upload a photo on their phone app and it gave me the option of "browsing the feed while it uploads" and everything I saw just annoyed or offended me and the picture never even uploaded. So I went back to imgbb because it's simpler and it, you know, actually uploads the loving image. The odd thing about imgbb though is sometimes at the end of the bbcode and link that it generates for you, there will be some extra text and a url to some other website that seems to be randomized. Before it seemed like it was always something about how to delete an account on various websites but lately it is much more random. Like for example I just had it generate this: formula weight of aluminum sulfate What the heck? I'm guessing someone pays this website to get the url randomly added to these links? Are there really people that paste the whole thing and don't take out the random links at the end? Whatever, for me it's still better than the cess pool that is imgur. Any thoughts? Also feel free to post the stuff you see generated because I am legit curious to see how many different things are randomized on there. Gave up on imgur because I couldn't see an option to upload from my phone without downloading their lovely app. Admittedly, I did cave and downloaded their lovely app, tried to upload something and, like you, it told me to browse the feed whilst it uploaded. The app never loving uploaded my pictures and I just saw a bunch of poo poo-tier memes. Imgurs """""community""""" is for people who still think "lol bacon is epic lmao" is the pinnacle of humour. I post and web browse almost exclusively from my phone at this point, getting my laptop out isn't really worth the effort especially when it's kinda outdated so it tends to load slower than my phone. The Imgur phone app really pushes the community thing hard, which I get, it encourages more views and content for them. Too bad it's mostly crap! I also feel like the whole "this may take a while to upload, better browse" thing seems odd, it's not like I'm uploading gigantic pictures. I know they are going to have higher demand sometimes but it seemed like it started happening all the time. The mobile site won't let you upload and makes you install the app. I can switch to the desktop version but it's a pain in the rear end to navigate on a phone. I've never seen it just straight up not upload the photo though so probably will just start using that! Again, though, I am willing to tough these things out if the other website is literally hosting CP. Especially when they claim their images are being reviewed for illegal content. I hope they are just being lazy and not actually checking the images, because if they turned a blind eye... gently caress I thought the weird links were kinda shady but really didn't expect anything this horrible to come out! Edit: also I feel like looking at the imgur feed when it's automatically loaded up is kind of analogous to YouTube comments, like everyone knows by now that they inevitably are horrible and you instantly regret looking, but somehow some people can't resist scrolling down (yes I am one of these people) Dixville fucked around with this message at 00:22 on Sep 28, 2018 |

Honestly uploading and sharing images tends to be about the only thing that makes my phone less convenient than my laptop and it just doesn't make up that huge of a portion of what I do. Also you're not the boss of me I do what I want !!!
