I know it's useless to speculate with a show such as this but: 1) Michael in season 1 was in rebellion against the traditional way of torturing people 2) Michael season 2 to today is in rebellion against the means of judging people 3) Michael may still be the literal devil. What if this is all a revolt against Doug Forcett's will?

double nine posted:I'm not familiar with Parks & Rec so I don't understand that reference, but there is no disguise that's going to withstand Eleanor's bullshit radar, eventually. It may take her a few episodes but she'll figure it out. Or Jason will, that beautiful idiot savant has sparks of genius .... sometimes. Ben Wyatt is a pencil pusher and a wholesome dork: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZRpP_XxVpM&t=69s I can fully see Trevor failing to keep his facade up for more than an episode, though.

double nine posted:... I may need to see this now. The sage TVIV advice is either to skip season 1 (which is only 6 episodes) or at least to not judge it by the first season.

Michael is going to turn out to be an interpretation of Lucifer in rebellion against the system, isn't he?

Michael Schur make the seasons. At this point I'm along for the ride instead for speculating on the future. The finale's Eleanor/Chidi screening was one of the more bittersweet things I've seen in recent years.Simone's actress was a wonderful addition to the show, and Michael McKean as Doug was great casting. D'Arcy Carden was a under-utilized in the first season, but got to flex a bit in season 2 and was brilliant in this season. My biggest misgiving is with Jason. Manny Jacinto delivered some of the funniest lines of the season perfectly, but the writing for his character hasn't really gone anywhere. His inherent obliviousness seems to have restricted the character from getting much depth compared to the rest of the cast. The rest of the characters have gotten to let their guard down one time or another, but Jason doesn't really have that guard to drop. I just don't want him to get stale, cause he's so loving funny.
