Portland, OR police took more than a day to admit that someone they shot had died, and still haven't admitted that they shot him 12 times in the back. I've read that police union representatives responded to the scene at almost the same time as paramedics.

A neo-nazi murdered 8 people at a Synagogue and people on TV are still speculating about whether there was any kind of warning that he might do this. Being a white male, he was arrested and taken alive. Talking heads on one of the cable news channels were discussing the possibility of synagogues hiring off-duty police officers or having members of the congregation standing guard in the lobby.
