Kirill being tricked into being a fake hostage is extremely funny because they barely had to explain it, they just put him in those scenes and you immediately understood what happened.

Episode finally showed up for me and it was worth the wait. I love the "Derick Returns!" fakeout, I love Kirill is upset not because Doug tricked him, but becuase Doug didn't come save him. Even the episode preview is great too. "Now that you know Doug is an rear end in a top hat the story can finally start moving."

I enjoyed the first episode, it's very good at what it does and I haven't seen a narrator fighting another character's internal monologue before in an anime. It also feels a little old school, like some anime of the past (Heat Guy J, etc.) that existed in a sort of fake America as opposed to the current trend of isekai and ever-present high school shows.
