Ash Lake in Dark Souls fills me with dread. It's gorgeous but the music, the expanse and the ceiling all make my lizard brain freak out. Good stuff in there, though.

I do like going in to Smash without knowing the full roster BUT I don't like the mysterious unlocking mechanics. Give me a list of what to do but don't tell me what it unlocks. There's no way I'm going to to a 10 minute brutal battle with the HOPE it unlocks SpongeBob or whatever.

Mario Kart and Smash Bros are the two games I insisted on being digital. They're party games and you never know when you'll be on a rooftop, unable to SWITCH carts. Edit: MonHun as well but only because I knew it was gonna consume my life.

Man... I dunno if I can go back to Hollow Knight after Yoku's Island Express. Backtracking in these games is expected but the Beeline is such a good mechanic. Hollow Knight is a total slog sometimes.

Rogue Legacy is out today. Pretty good Roguelike. I spent a long time with it and never best the game. $15 is pretty much the most I would pay

Because I am an impatient child I bought Moonlighter. My Smash coins brought it down to $20, which helps ease the sting a bit. I'm starting to really love the coin system. It's not much but it's a clever way to keep your purchasing momentum.

I am very hyped for Warframe. However, let me warn any new players: Unless they pulled a miracle, the controls are gonna be hard to get used to. It's a hybrid shooter/3rd person action game. It can require precision for shooting and the movement needs a certain rhythm. There are loads of builds that are pretty mindless so I suspect those will be popular on this console. Edit: I'm very curious if they will allow cross-platform clans. The pop cap is kinda low so we may need to have a Switch clan in either case.

Min/maxing in Diablo is so funny to me. Either you do a ton of research ahead of time and scream towards one specific setup or you play and get a sense of what you want to do until you get a pair of gloves that makes a previously unused spell into an orbital laser Cannon and you have to retool everything. Diablo is good. Wish I could justify $60.

Hey folks? Moonlighter is hella good. The game loop is a little like Monster Hunter. You go into the randomized dungeons (like Isaac), kill stuff, take their loot and see how far you can get before you run out of bag space or health. You then sell that stuff in your shop to fuel upgrades and the town as a whole to make your adventuring easier and more profitable. I haven't even finished the first dungeon and I'm 100% hooked.
