That said, it is not that much smaller than the regular dock at about half the size, but it is also half the price, including a power adapter and HDMI cable. It's not a teeny tiny travel size dock, but it may be small enough for your needs.

Is there a thread recommended favorite for a grip like this? Don't have large hands, but even still it's hard to use the console in portable mode for long without cramping.
The most often recommended is the unique Satisfye grip, since it is the only one that has a special right grip placement that takes into account the lower positioned right thumbstick, thus it should be the most comfortable over very long sessions. Here is the Satisfye grip and slim case bundle:

What's the deal with these knockoff Pro controllers? I saw a guy use one in a tangentially-related Youtube video and he stated that it was basically an unbranded Pro controller for like half price. I bought one (although I randomly got one of the colored ones) and already had a real Pro controller, and that assessment more or less seems to be the case. It looks and feels like an actual Pro controller, but without any Nintendo branding. It seems like they used the molding for the real thing, with the only other perceptible difference being the d-pad and maybe the buttons. Otherwise it appears identical to the real thing, although the battery is only rated for 20 hours. Anyone know what the story is behind these?
Here you go:

https://www.lootpots.com/articles/fake-switch-pro-controller-comparison-internals-30072018/

-No NFC
-Bad rumble
-Less battery
-Can't wake the console
-Same bad d-pad as original revision Pro controllers
-Automatically sleeps after no input before the Switch sleeps (probably to save on battery)

While you can play The Friends of Ringo Ishikawa as a River City-style beat em up, running around and getting into fights for pocket change, that's not really the point of the game and this becomes more apparent the longer you play, thus it really shouldn't be evaluated as an RCR-alike, despite looking 100% like one

Stay Cool, Kobayashi-san is apparently 100% trash, more like Stay Away.

That leaves RCG as the closest RCR-alike with 2-player beat em up quasi-rpg action, at least until RCU gets ported (???)

No Dark Forces was like Doom, though the engine could create overlapping sectors (cross over with itself). There might be some confusion in that Dark Forces could also display real polygonal 3D objects, but they weren't solid. Still, you could do some amazing stuff with the Dark Forces engine and it may just be the most advanced Doom-like engine out there, even more advanced than BUILD.

As for "real 3D" both System Shock and Descent allowed you to look in any direction and are real 3D in that sense, but their engines were geared towards caves and enclosed spaces, so you couldn't create arbitrary geometry with them. Quake is probably the first major FPS where you can create arbitrary geometry and thus in-effect recreate any real world space.

The input lag is in that very weird and very bad space where you don't really see it at first glance, but you absolutely feel it, and it makes any and all fast action games (a majority of the collection) feel like crap.

I played some Beyond Oasis and it didn't feel like how I remembered it, it seemed a lot harder, and it felt slower. I played some Golden Axe and I thought, "was this series always this bad and I just didn't notice it?" I played some Alien Storm and I was constantly getting hit and the game felt completely broken. Then I went and played these on PC and it was like night and day. I even went back to Alien Storm on the switch and I could actually kind of play ok now that I knew how it was supposed to feel, I could anticipate what was happening and hit attack just a little bit earlier, like I was adjusting. But if I hadn't just played it on PC I could never have made that adjustment and I would have just thought that all of these games were just broken.
