"The Mandalore Plot" three-parter was so good that I got shivers near the end. I like how the architecture is all cubist and the Duchess's portrait looks like a Picasso painting.

Instead of killing the hostage taker with a lightsaber through the chest at the end of the second episode, Anakin could have sliced through the arm holding the detonator. "Overlooking" that is in keeping with Anakin's character, though, and it only would have made the same point about approaches to resolving a hostage situation with negotiating or violence, while being less dramatic. In all the previous hostage-taking scenes in the series, there'd usually be a way out, like the ship being fired upon shakes it, creating an opportunity, so it was a good moment.

in the heart would still leave them moments of life to press the button, through the neck or lower brain stem would have been the better play.

You know what? I liked Mara Jade in the old EU. She was a cool, interesting character who brought a different perspective to the Force, the Empire and the Emperor. Plus the relationship she had with Luke seemed to dodge the idea of her being a prize/reward/object for Luke, instead being a relationship of partners and equals.

That said, I think her niche in this canon has pretty well already been filled by Ahsoka Tano. I just don't see any way to bring in Mara Jade that wouldn't smack of "Imperial/Sith" Ahsoka Tano.

None of the old eu writers knew what to do with her so past getting together with luke her character development stopped until she was killed off in a really dumb way.

The sequel trilogy was a mistake they should have done all the side shows and one shot movies first, THEN done a sequel trilogy and taken their time with it.

Bonus: if it took them long enough they could make a clean break from all the old cast.

Clone uprising, Kaminon Genocide being what I think of. I do hope that the Bad Batch mostly survive and just become part of the rebellion, we don't see them in the OT because they were somewhere else. We don't need to see them manning the guns on the Falcon or something at Endor, or defending Echo Base on Hoth, they were there, i can dig it.

Star Wars Explained talked about if Star Wars has a small universe problem, that people are always turning up and they said no, and I agree because Clone Wars, Bad Bach and Rebels is one story, of course the same characters are going to pop up. Mandolorian doesn't have it because it has its own cast and really only Bo-Katan and Ahsoka came in and both of their apperances felt like they'd be part of the story. Luke is fanservice but it still fits.

Given how ancient rex looks during rebels i can't imagine what bad batch would look like during ESB

high republic = before the horrible pre-clone wars corruption, the 'ideal' of the republic that people are supposedly fighting for during the first two trilogies.

old republic = at least one of the crazy jedi/sith wars (there were a couple)

you basically got two 'main' ones, the revan era one and the bane era one then some minor skirmishes like exar kun.
