Is there a roadmap for all of these shows that were announced a few weeks back? Or at least what show starts up next, and how soon?

I stopped watching the animated Star Wars around season 2 or 3 of The Clone Wars, and never got to Rebels or anything else. Can someone give a tl;dr of important things to know about these characters?

Alchenar posted:I agree. I was actually waiting for a twist at the end where Crosshair would turn on the stormtroopers and escape with the team. It felt they were setting him up as the villain a bit too heavy handedly in the early episode and I thought they were going for something along the lines of "I absolutely hate this but because of you Tarkin is going to have us all killed so I have no choice but to escape with you guys, also you are still my clone bros". . I really really feel like Nala Se is playing a very tight game with Tarkin and as soon as his attention is elsewhere she'll deactivate/remove Crosshair's chip and send him on his way. I mean, this is what I want to happen after seeing her help their escape. I'd like to think Lama Su is in on it too, but he could be "don't tell them because that looks bad for us" or "don't tell them because it'll give them a better chance to escape".

After Vader was done choking him, Motti didn't freak the gently caress out, like, "What the gently caress was that?! You can do that? How? What is happening here?! Why are you guys not freaking out like I am?!" Which is about how I'd react if someone used magic power to choke me from across the room in the real world. Vader has probably been doing that for roughly the past two decades by that point.

I'm hoping that some of these filler episodes come back to have some kind of effect on the story so much I'm trying to pay attention to small details, like when Omega said she was naturally good at strategy im like is that a clue? Is that part of the main story? They just had their debts paid off in this episode, that should hopefully free them up from doing jobs for Cid.

Megillah Gorilla posted:I wonder, for those who never watched Rebels, how would the last episode have come across? I haven't watched Rebels and it was still a good episode, I just didn't get all that excited the droid was there but I was like "Was that the shy Twi'lek that Boil and Waxer saved" and she wasn't so I was a bit sad. I do think the Twi'lek episodes from The Clone Wars are enough to bridge the gap for this episode. You know most of the key players from that. Now if you hadn't watched that either, it would probably be more confusing. Edit: I plan on watching Rebels after this series is over just because I'm assuming that's how the timeline works and I'm already watching this. I only finished watching the non-Bad Batch related TCW episodes last week. pik_d fucked around with this message at 03:25 on Jul 10, 2021 |

I guess they had to explain why Ben could be a Force Ghost but not Qui-Gon. They followed the trail and found Siilman with the Pykes, after Sifo-Dyas had been killed. He had gone mad and Dooku killed him before they could get much info out of him. Edit: The Pykes admitted to giving Sifo-Dyas' corpse to Dooku after they shot down his ship. pik_d fucked around with this message at 04:33 on Jul 13, 2021 |

I've been watching Rebels for the first time just to get the back story that'll show up in Ahsoka and whatever else. Is the Resistance series good backstory for anything coming up, considering that it's in a different time period than most of the stuff that's on now? People have mentioned that it's not as good as the other animated shows, but I will probably end up watching it since I've burned through The Clone Wars and Rebels. Just curious if it can wait or if it would be helpful for any of the upcoming series.

swickles posted:Prodigy is good, I like that for a show aimed at kids they set up a lot of mystery without hitting you over the head with "we have got to solve this mystery?!?!" Answer: The Window of Dreams that Dal keeps talking about was mentioned in season 7 of Voyager, so it's close to the Delta/Alpha quadrant border, nowhere near where Voyager started their journey. I'm not sure why there's all these species in this region of space, but the USS Protostar has trans warp capabilities as seen on one of the LCARS displays, so that explains some of it.

Jet Jaguar posted:There's just so much goddamn filler in Clone Wars. LIke "Here are multiple guides showing which episodes and whole chunks of seasons you can safely skip" amount of filler. I feel like those guides are more "If you want to learn about Ahsoka watch these" or "If you want to learn about the bad batch origin story, watch these" rather than about skipping filler. Those "skippable" episodes are a) I watched a huge chunk of episodes for The Bad Batch (due to lack of time to watch the whole thing) then went back and watched the rest afterwards, didn't feel like I was watching filler the 2nd time around.

TheBigBudgetSequel posted:Not that it wasn't horrifying before, but the reframing of the Tuskens really makes Anakin's slaughter that much scarier. That and the way Obi-Wan talks about them when they're originally introduced is a real bad look. A bounty hunter who was captured by them has a better understanding of them in weeks/months than a Jedi after presumably two decades of living in the same area? Makes him look like a racist old man.

Sentinel Red posted:Can you remind us what he said about them that's so bad? All I remember him saying is that travelling through their lands is not to be taken lightly, they ride single file, and that they can be spooked but will return with reinforcements. Nothing like they're all mindless savages who deserve to be put to the lightsabre or anything similar. The one thing that came to mind watching this episode was Obi-Wan saying the blaster fire was too accurate for sand people, as if they're incapable of doing something as well as a stormtrooper (lol). Maybe Boba's friends are just better shots because they absolutely nailed some of their shots.
