He has said no in numerous interviews. He moved his family to the US. And has also said its about the money.

And to be honest even though New Japan can pay Nakamura it probably would be a waste of money given how much hotter they got without him and also how Nakamura seems pretty much done in ring compared to Tanahashi (Bad WWE booking aside most of Nakamura's NXT run was just there)

The stock was way over valued for what the new TV deal was going to bring in so this seems like a correction and also Vince wasn't able to touch the orb while in the middle east.

Sure can't wait for the Saudi show to have a heel journalist taunting the crowd

Please redo the Mania 7 build but this time with the Saudi's as faces and the US as heels

WWE is used to bending the truth in angles and storylines so going back and doing propaganda pieces is totally on brand for them

WWE finally has the perfect moment to bring back Muhammad Hassan for a red hot angle but this time as a face

Considering how many countries were/are super friendly with the Saudi's I doubt the WWE is in major trouble unless they go over and do a propaganda piece

SatoshiMiwa

Yeah Vince is the kinda of money mark that he'd have the second event be just as much of propaganda piece as the first

Wonder if Brock still shows

Like do you mean again, because they've totally already done that.

They haven't had Cena say "all enemies of the state of Saudi Arabia deserve to die and any torture associated is justifiable", but the whole thing is propaganda.

Yeah I mean again. The first one was super bad of course but not on the level it'd be if they did it this time.

Which of course given how much Vince loves money he probably will do.

Losing the Saudi deal would hurt the stock price and a few quarters but they'll be more than okay with the new TV money. Now if they still go to Saudi Arabia and do propaganda pieces like the first trip than well the TV deals could be at issue

I keep saying Smackdown on Fox has the potential to be a replay of the Jay Leno at 10pm fiasco but if ratings keep up it might even be a Pink Lady and Jeff disaster

SatoshiMiwa

Plus Fox bought the rights cause it was sold as a sports program that could keep and grow its ratings and instead its decreasing when the NFL and MLB is growing its ratings. Add in the fact it also as a lead in need to keep local news viewership strong and it's a very risky move (although given the money it's a gamble worth taking for the WWE)

They're gonna end up moving this to North Korea so they can break the attendance record aren't they?

Two things that people always neglect to mention is....

1) Smackdown will air on Friday, not Tuesday. The bar for ratings on Friday is much much lower than on Monday thru Thursday.
2) While the contract is for 1 BILLION DOLLARS and seems insane, it's not. That's 3.8 Million for 2 hours of original programming 52 weeks out of the year. They wouldn't be able to develop 104 hours of original dramas or comedies to fill it's time slot for that price, not to mention the potential of needing to develop multiple shows that could fail and need to be replaced with new shows mid season.

Current Fox Friday lineup is

Last Man Standing (6.15 Rating)
The Cool Kids (4.9)
Hell's Kitchen (2.66)

I have no idea how much Last Man Standing costs to make, but Smackdown only costs them $950,000 per half hour. Tim Allen's salary per episode for LMS in 2016 was $235,000 alone, and that only goes up each year as the series gets more popular.

On average, Fox spends about $2 million per 1 hour of scripted programming, and that is not for year round programming for ratings that tank when it's a rerun

The logic behind this is why NBC gave the 10 PM slot to Jay Leno and welp that didn't work out. Sure the programming not cost as much as scripted/reality but if the ratings drop and can't deliver good ratings lead in for Local News the show will be terfed even if it's cheaper than any other programming

Honest question, if they go and do propaganda does this make it a worse show than the North Korea show with Inoki doing some North Korea propaganda?

I could see Brock cancelling if he feels the money isn't worth the risk and given the fact he really doesn't like travel to begin with

I mean Vince is going to be stubborn and want the cash but also Vince is going to need to keep local stations happy in a years time so maybe he should cave and at least postpone the event till the heat dies down which knowing the current climate of new bull poo poo happening should be...a month

Like aside from who they are pushing the main roster WWE TV and PPV has all been horribly paced and makes watching it a chore. They are 100% gonna have to fix that before they hit Fox
