I feel this way too but too much heat might make him cave from the PG image he loves now

It could go either way - we will have to see what happens at this meeting that is supposedly happening tomorrow

But when does the new XFL officially start? Does it have a date? Is it actually going to happen?

Coz I thought it was all still in the potential/hypothetical/theoretical stages at the moment with nothing concrete for at least a couple of years.

According to the website it starts in 20 cities in 2020.

They just recently named Oliver Luck their CEO and Commissioner apparently.

Cena has been good in pretty much every movie he's been in - his movie career is going to be just fine. He's a funny charismatic guy who isn't afraid to play any type of part despite his build.

Working his way up from WWE movies/smaller parts in real movies to starring parts in real movies was probably a good move for him. He's not going to end up another Rock but there probably isn't ever going to be another one of those.

I would think it could catch up to his movie career that he's making these monthly trips to fly over to the desert and loudly proclaim how cool and good the murdering oil barons are. But this is America and no one gives a poo poo

He'd be able to say he was only fulfilling contractual obligations just like WWE probably will and I doubt he supports this nonsense either but he is loyal to Vince and WWE

This whole situation is pretty fucky

Despite current events me and one of my best friends went through today with buying tickets to Takeover and the Rumble in Phoenix. I was hesitant, but going to a WWE Pay Per View live, let alone one of the big four, is basically the only thing I've never gotten to do as a wrestling fan, and given that my interest in WWE has withered to almost nothing I figured I would let myself have this swan song. Here's hoping the rumors about The Rock competing in the match are true!

If they don't promote it the Saudis are probably going to see it as a slight against them anyway so they're in a no win situation and should just cancel it and take the hit

Imagine only having one thing that you can make life changing money doing because it's probably the only thing you're good at and you've spent your entire life building your skills in it

Then imagine going against a direct order from your old vindictive boss who owns the biggest company in your field and then has unlimited resources at his disposal to make sure you never work in that field again outside of maybe a bingo hall he can't reach

It's easy to sit here and act like it's a simple decision when you aren't stuck in the situation and are just one of the independent contractors that had nothing to do with the poor business decision in the first place

This is a very different situation though. Wrestlers have been told it's not optional and to not even speak of this on social media and refusing to go would not end in just a stopped push because of the media surrounding the deal, the murder and the Saudi situation making everyone uneasy even before this happened. It's not going to be seen as someone not wanting to go because of the trip it's going to be seen as someone not wanting to go to lead a protest.

Lowe's sex tape was like THE sex tape as far as I remember until Tommy Lee cornered the market. That whole pre-internet time period is just so weird to look back to and how like tape trading and seedy friends of friends things worked compared to how easily you can find anything today and there's entire business and brands devoted to distributing stolen pornography.

Also Lowe was having sex with a teenager so it ruined his career for awhile until everyone forgot.

Looked that up and dang:

quote:

Sex tape
In 1988, Lowe was involved in a sex scandal over a videotape of him having sex with a 16-year-old girl he met in a nightclub. They were videotaped the night before the Democratic National Convention in Atlanta, Georgia. As the age of consent in Georgia was 14 at the time (until 1995 when it was raised to 16), both were of legal age to engage in sexual activity, although 18 was the legal age to be involved in such a recording.[47] At the time, Lowe was campaigning for Michael Dukakis.[48]

Georgia what the hell were you doing? 14?

Rob was apparently 24 at the time.
