Dak'ir rushes up and points his hand flamer at the cultists. Despite his prayers to his Primarch, whatever foul powers shield the cultists prevail, because as the marine squeezes the trigger, and the hose connecting the fuel canister to the barrel breaks loose, spraying promethium all over the place, instead of down the barrel and over the pilot light. Praying to the Machine God will be required to get the hose back into place.

The other group of autogun wielding cultists rush up into cover and fire at the Marine, but once again, autogun rounds can't puncture Ceremite Armor. Luckily none of the shots ignite the promethium covering the marine.

The Marine rolled a 1 on the wrath die, which means a complication!

complication deck: 1d55 41

Page 41 of the Complication deck PDF is weapon malfunction. "The current weapon has a spectacular malfunction. This can result in a plasma weapon getting hot for example. Spend an action to make a Tech test (DN4) to repair." I'm going to rule that such a malfunction occurred before the weapon fired. Not all complications will. In the case of a "dropped weapon" I'll usually allow the attack to continue, you just drop it when the attack finishes.

They have resilience of 6, so that seven damage is just enough to kill the two one wound mobs with no extra damage spreading over.

The other ranged mob is going to try to kill the scary fire marine, but also move up. So they are taking a multi-action, raising the TN to hit the marine to 6..

to hit marine The Sequel: 13#1d6 4 4 3 4 4 2 3 1 5 5 6...

That's Seven icons with one exalted for a total of 9 icons. They are going to hit you, and shift the exalted for +1 ED. They'd Need to get exalted on both damage dice to get through your resolve and armor of 10 total.

autogun damage: 2d6 7

Nope that is 7+1 for an 8, with no Pen.

Okay, so I need posts from my last two players here. The Baddies will be spending a ruin to sieze the initiative and go first next round, so Just need posts from Lyta and Lauren

Lauren sneers as the heretics reveal themselves, straightening her posture and marching toward them, drawing her hand flamer first, then her plasma pistol second. Her eyes burn with holy wrath, the Aquila necklace around her neck glinting in the light of the flame and gunshots. She speaks in a loud, unfaltering voice, locking eyes with the leader of the heretic assault.

"My name is Lauren Andser, Servant of the Golden Throne, may His reign last forever. You have blasphemed against his most holy tenants and incurred the wrath of his Angels, His Eyes and your fellow humankind. Even the Xeno recoils at your heresy - lay down your arms and prostrate yourselves for his Mercy, that your souls not lost to darkness. Otherwise I shall consign you to oblivion myself."

With the distinct crack of a las shot, Lyta punches a nicely cauterized wound in the torso of one of the melee cultists. Up front, with their leader behind, most of them dead, and having watched the rounds from their auto-gun wielding friends do nothing, the knife wielding cultists that remain, all three of them, cut their losses and immediate begin to book it out of there.

Seeing the devastation and the fleeing of his men, and hearing some threats shouted at him, the leader turns around and starts to back away, but noticing one of the other squads is closer, he falls back to the squad. He shouts some orders at them, and points at Lyta who is out in the open. The group opens fire, and demonstrates the reliability of Guard Flak armor. Most of the rounds mushroom on the laminated flak, by Lyta feels a sting and looks down, is that...blood?

Lyta takes out another melee mob, leaving them with 3 left.

Okay, so mobs have to make resolve tests when they lose half of their troops at the very end of the turn. If they fail they move away until they can make resolve test to recover. The DN on both is 3, and the mobs have resolve of ...2.

Resolve DN3 not to break: 2d6 4

So rather than waste time having them retreat and reroll for three of them, the mob just runs.

Lauren does her Intimidation test. Out of intimidation or resolve, the higher number is 4, so that is the DN for the test. With as many icons as you have, you can easily shift three exalted icons for a players call. The Cultist leader finds it would be wise to retreat to his autogun mob

I then use a ruin for the Cult leader to seize the initiative! He uses a move and a run to move back 8 meters to join with the autogun unit that moved forward last turn. He then uses a ruin and a free action to implore his autogun cultists to kill them all letting them make one combat action. Wanting to pick off some of the weak, they aim for Lyta. As Lyta moved only a move action last turn she is out of cover, so if I am reading her sheet right, she only has a defense of 2 but a resilience of 7 with her flak armor.

Ballistics of 5, agility of 2, and bonus die equal to half of the mob number capped at tier limit of 6 is pool of 13.

To hit Lyta: 13#1d6 4 2 2 3 2 4 6 5 6 4 4...

That's 5 icons with 2 more exalted. They can easily hit and shift both exalted icons for 2ED meaning damage of 7+3ED

autogun damage: 3d6 8

So that is one whole wound, unless you soak.

Kaenera16M from elevator

Kaenera Uthel | Wrath: 1/2

The flow of battle washes over Kaenera as the cultists fight, die, and finally flee the inquisition team's onslaught. Chaos and screams, blood and fire. Were she not of such iron will, this may well have awoken something dark within her. As is, though, she simply blurs through the construction yard as she darts from cover to cover. The autoguns provoke no fear in her heart, but it is the mark of a subpar warrior to look down upon one's foe. Treat every fight as though it is the most important trial in your life. That is the Aeldari way. That is her way.

Move: Standard Move and then Run to cover 16 meters and hunker down behind some rubble for +1 defense.

Finding the leader in her sights, Kaenera steadies her hand and lets loose an absolute flurry of crystalline shuriken. The storm easily finds its way through the rubble protecting the leader as he shouts and cowers. Kaenera does not let off the trigger until the magazine runs dry, painting the yard with blood.

Action: Firing at the Cultist Leader with a Shuriken Pistol. Spending a reload to activate Salvo 2, firing from short range (less than 12 yards) for an extra die.

Shuriken Pistol (4 agi + 3 bs + 2 salvo + 1 short range): 10#1d6 3 5 6 3 1 1 2 2 1 1
Shuriken Pistol (WP: Re-roll failures): 8#1d6 5 5 4 5 5 1 4 2

Final total of 1 exalted, with 8 regular icons. Shifting the exalted icon to damage, activating Penetrating [3].

Shuriken Pistol Damage (3ED+1 shift): 4#1d6 3 3 1 5

Gregori the Merciful
Wounds: 7/7 | Shock: 6/7
Wrath: 0 | Faith: 1/2 | Reloads: 2/3
Defense: 2 (4-2 Sprint) | Resilience: 9*

Gregori quakes with righteous fury as the cowardly cultists turn tail. He draws his Eviscerator and screams, "THERE IS NO ESCAPE FROM THE LIGHT OF THE EMPEROR!" before leaping over cover and charging directly towards the cultists, his weapon screaming eagerly for heretic blood. Almost as eagerly as him.

No human being should be able to move quite so quickly, and yet somehow Gregori crosses the entire distance with Eldar-like speed. Is that a soft golden light that seems to push him along and buoy him over small obstacles as he runs? Perhaps it's only a trick of the confusing light in this musty burnt-out factory. Regardless, on the verge of stumbling, frothing with rage, Gregori leaps the last few meters and spins into a massive Eviscerator swing. He was among them now, and they were going to learn the hard way how to kneel in the Emperor's presence, even if it meant cutting them all off at the knees.

I'm spending a point of Glory to Seize the Initiative. Gregori switches to his Eviscerator and then takes a Multi-Action.

Action 1: Activates the Hand of the Emperor Faith Power to take an immediate free action Move 6m to 20m from the Cultist Leader.

Action 2: Sprints 12m to 8m from the Cultist Leader. -2 to Defense for the rest of the round.

Action 3: Combines his unused regular Move with a third Action to Charge 6m and hit the Cult Leader (or the autogun mob if he's dead) for +1d on a melee attack. I can juuuust pull this off because the Eviscerator has a 2m range, and now both the Cultist Leader and the autogun mob (or at least part of it?) are caught in melee with me.

Eviscerator Melee Attack 11 (10 +1 Charge) vs DN 10 (4 +2 Unwieldy +4 Multi-Action x2): 1 3 4 6 4 2 1 6 6 4 1, a Complication and 8 Icons, so I'll go ahead and throw in my remaining Wrath point to reroll the 5 non-Wrath failures (since you can't reroll the Wrath die on a Complication)

Eviscerator Wrath Reroll (5 dice): 5 2 1 2 1, up to 9 Icons, gently caress this, I'm spending three more points of Glory on three extra dice, somebody's gotta spend this stuff eventually

Eviscerator Glory Bonus Dice (+3): 1 4 3 10 ICONS :bisonyes:

Damage 8+ED w/ Brutal Included: 3 6, so 10 Damage. Either a dead cult leader or a single extremely dead autogun guy. Wasteful? Yes. Satisfying? Also yes.

If any of these guys dare to attack me in melee, I'll sacrifice my next move to use Counterstrike, and I'll only be at +2 DN since my turn will have ended by then. Don't forget to hit me with a Complication.

The Eldar showed the speed and cruelty of their race in relation to the Monkeigh. In one swift motion Kaenera vaults her cover of an old and burned loom, slides into cover behind a one wheeled human powered material conveyance, and lets loose a quick burst of mono-filament rounds from her Shuriken pistol.

The cultist leader, like most of the cultists came dressed in simple clothes, the fight they were expecting did not include astartes, Inquisitorial agents, and an Eldar Wytch. Even if they had been prepared and in armor, the foul xenos munitions would have made short work of it. The unsettling thing about eldar Shuriken weapons is they don't leave the large exit wounds of Terran weapons. Typically they leave no exit wounds, as the rounds break up and shred meat and bone. This is the same. The cultists see deceivingly light impacts on their leader, without even blood spray. One even laughs, but then their leader turns around, and blood is pouring out of fine knife-like wounds on his torso as blood flows from his mouth as his now shredded lungs fill with blood from internal bleeding.

No sooner does he fall over dead than the nearest cultists flee, and the others soon follow. The charred husk of a factory is silent, the first known deaths in ten years laying bleeding on the ground.

Okay, super sorry on that update taking longer than usual. As I said in Discord, work last week was busy, and I've also been packing for the move to my new house.

The cult leader had 5 resilience (no armor) and five wounds, so 11 damage is just enough to kill him. Instead of another like three rounds of autogun fire bouncing off the strongest of you, I figured the enemies will flee. But they may be able to share what they learned with others, making the next group more prepared.

A few of the cell get to examining the dead bodies of the cultists for some signs of identification. Strangely, none of them seem to be carrying anything of a personal nature, no ident cards, no home or vehicle keys, no wallet, or nothing. For those with some Inquisition experience, that shows that they are dealing with a group with some insight on keeping the heretical activities clandestine. Some of the dead do have birthmarks, scars, and tattoos that can all be used to identify the bodies, assuming they have had any other contact with the Arbites or the planetary law enforcement.

The cult leader has something the rest of the cultists do not have, propaganda. It is all printed on paper and consists of what appears to be a bunch of simple one line statements of encouragement. They contain phrases such as, "The Imperium is Dying!", "The fall of Cadia shows the Imperium is weak!", "Mitoch'ja was strong before the Imperium, and will be strong again!", "True Mitoch'ja are the Tel'an'id! Imperial sympathizers are the real Uk'vah!"

The cell has gathered all the information they can hear. Many had planned to go to various Imperial and Local institutions to try and get insight into planetary history. However, trying to track down the identity of the fresh dead from identifying marks could be another lead to follow, though such identification can be left to the Arbites or local law enforcement.

Okay sorry for the delay, finally getting a little back into the swing of things after the holidays the the moving process. You can either track down some of the other leads you had mentioned, like Imperial guard, Eclicsiarchy, or other records, or work on some body identification.

"These heretics are smart... This is no mere rabble, I fear. However they tip their hand too strongly with this material. I believe the 'Mitoch'ja'een' are the former non-human overlords of this world, or perhaps a high-priesthood. Their loyal or chosen human sycophants must have been called the Tel'an'id. The Uk'vah must be a traditional enemy or anti-alien element of society. These heretics see themselves as the 'Tel'an'id,' a ruling class that has been unjustly cast down. Perhaps they are descendants from the era of conquest, but more likely not. Regardless - those who resist the Imperium are true Mitoch'ja and also part of this ruling class, while Imperial sympathizers are Uk'vah. The original message spoke of purging the hidden Uk'vah... I believe this cult may be far older than we originally suspected, and have been biding their time. This sacrifice was a probably a cult member killed for disloyalty at some point, based on the ritual markings. Now with the Great Rift and the general collapse facing the Imperium, they see their chance."

Sky pokes around the bodies, looking at the tattoos that some of them bear. Most of the tattoos do not tell her much. They mostly seem to be personal in nature; a lot of "in memory" or different sort of designs that are common among members of the Imperium looking to have some sort of tattoo. She does, however, notice that a couple of the dead, including the leader, all share one tattoo, the Number 412, written in standard Astra Militarum numeric script. It is very likely this was an Imperial Guard regiment number, the world is known for providing a tithe of siege specialists to the Imperial Guard. It is likely they might be veterans who have returned from war, but checking with local Militarum records would verify.

Either way Sky mentions it for the Arbites meat wagons on their way when they identify the bodies.

Okay, so which lead do you guys want to track down? I know there was mention of the local guard offices, eclisiarchy, administratum offices, etc. We can split the group among these or others if you want to indicate where you want to go, or you can all go as a group.

The Team makes their way to the Imperial Guard central Camp on world. It requires the group to drive a few hours out into the exterior of the capital city, out into the wastes. It would seem the Imperial Guard found it wise to set up their training camp away from the city, especially given their training regime. The group hears the artillery shells long before they arrive, and as they pull up to the camp gate, the guards waive them in. The Arbites has already began to clean up the remnants of the fight at the construction site, and had already radioed ahead that some Inquisitorial Agents were coming.

The group is lead into the command building, which appears to be an old and highly modified standard imperial guard prefab command bunker. They are greeted by a Lieutenant who stinks of lhos Promethium fumes. He introduces himself with a rather forgettable name. He said the Regimental commander was currently out in the field training with the troops, and will be recalled as soon as their position stops being shelled, but that the Lieutenant can help them in whatever reasonable way the group needs.

The lieutenant goes over to a nearby cogitator as Andser starts to make requests. "Ah, yes, uh-huh," he says to himself as he slowly types away at the cogitator. "I cannot provide any information about the compliance of this world. The records here at regimental command date back to when the regiment was founded, which was after the compliance action."

He absently pulls a lho out of a packet in his shirt pocket, and leaves it unlit in his lips. "412 is a little broad. Assuming it is the number for one of our many regiments. 412, 412.." The sounds of the artillery in the distance start to go silent as the Lieutenant keeps going. "Ah yes. The 412. They are a recent tithe. Public records show that the 412 was involved in an action related to a civil war. Records indicate the action was a success and since it was an already settled world, many of the Regiment came home with the transport ships. Highest current proportion of returned veterans."

The lieutenant finally lights his lho. "Anything else?"

Sky muttered a curse under his breath. He knew what this meant. Returned veterans brought something home with them. Some heretical idea or corruption took root during the action, and at the time they may not have even realized how dangerous it was. Depending on the attrition rate there would be tens to hundreds of thousands of enlisted soldiers returned to Mitoch'ja. They were looking for a needle in a haystack.

With carefully gathered composure, Sky addresses the lieutenant, "We'll need the names, ranks, and current locations of every veteran of that campaign still on Mitoch'ja." A thought occurs to him, and he adds, "And anyone killed since they returned."

When there's a moment out of earshot of the Guard, Sky says to the acolytes, "We should work from the top down. If they brought back some cult or other, it'd make sense to use their existing social hierarchy. That should narrow it down some. My money's on some captain or whatever leading their men into heresy. That or a well liked grunt fragged their officer and took over. Anyone else have ideas?"

The Lieutenant begins to type away at the cogitator when Sky requests names and the like. Just as the group starts to talk among themselves, the door slams open and a stern man enters the room, wearing a simple flak cloak and just torso armor, but the rank insigna on the armor shows the rank of Colonel.

He comes over to the group, and gives a quick salute. "Colonel Hiram Dotter, commander of the 495th Mitoch'jaian Stonewalls. Currently out there getting trained before we head off world to fight and die for the Emperor." He looks first to Kaenera and then to Dak'ir, smiling. "Heh, only fought with Eldar and Astartes once, both in the same campaign. The astartes were those White Scar chaps. Scary fast, but it made it hard to launch artillery without being danger close. We were fighting some Eldar that kept attacking a world. Didn't look like you. Their armor was spiker, but what do I know about your kind?"

He then inquires as to why the cell was there. They shared that they had encountered some members of the 412th in their investigations into a cult. Upon hearing mention of the 412th, Hiram sighs and takes a seat at the briefing table in the middle of the room. "poo poo, 412th was my regiment when I first was tithed, was a young lieutenant at that time. Whole loving campaign was a mess.'The compliance of Lilth IV.' Planet had stopped paying its tithe because they were embroiled in a civil war. Our regiment was sent in to defend key targets and break others. Four years of fighting in thick urban sprawl. Seeing local brother vs brother, civilians gassed, the whole damned thing."

Hiram's one organic eye goes distant for a second as he recalled somethings he did not give voice to. He regains focus. "End of that campaign was the shitiest thing. So war starts getting bogged down. Blame starts going to the loyalist government, popular opinion shifts, all that stuff. Eventually the rebels get enough support from the populace that they contact Imperial command and offer to pay the tithe. There were enough civilians sick of the war that they volunteered for the tithe, if the Imperials recognized their government. loving Administratum doesn't care who pays the tithe. They agree, and order us to remove the ruling government. So the folks we had fought alongside for four years suddenly became the enemy. Thankfully the enemies since then have been more straight forward. I only like shooting humans if they got spikes on their armor and piles of skulls."

As Hiram finishes, the group notices the Lieutenat was gone. Hiram walks over to the cogitator to see about providing the records he has on the regimental survivors. He taps on the keyboard a couple times, and looks up. "Thor's balls, seems that the cogitator banks were wiped." At almost the same time the whistle of incoming artillery is heard in the air right before the building shakes as the lights flicker off just in time for the emergency lights to go on. "IS THAT MY OWN loving ARTILLERY SHOOTING ME!?" The building shakes again, but this time the hit was not as direct as the last one. Shots can be heard in the distance, the sound of artillery firing in the distance is not all falling on them.

So, seems like it might be a trap, plans on your course of action?

Gregori's eyes bulge out of his skull with rage; he immediately puts one hand on his eviscerator's hilt and moves towards the door. His worst fears were confirmed. The rot had spread to the military forces of this world, and it was a heresy so brazen that its followers would DARE to delete data in his presence.

"Cowardly heretic filth! Where has that so-called Lieutenant fled to? And Colonel, where is the artillery firing from? Can we commandeer a vehicle and rush them down?"

My plan is DRIVE ME CLOSER SO I CAN HIT THEM WITH MY SWORD

"I was almost worried that these heretics would go to ground. This makes things much easier," the falling artillery shells don't seem to shake the young woman, who is entirely too used to this sort of thing.

"Are there loyal men who might still be manning their guns that could be contacted? Based on the firing sounds it seems that only a few guns are aimed in this direction," she gives him a sympathetic, but also somewhat predatory smile, "I am afraid things are about to get very complicated for you again Colonel. By the Throne on Terra and the authority it grants you and your men, whoever are deemed loyal and true servants of the Emperor are hereby conscripted to the service of his Holiest Inquisition. This corruption will be scoured from this world."

Is there a communicator that was can use to contact the battery? Since it doesn't seem like every gun is zero-ing in on us, maybe it is only a few guns going rogue. Also trying to be the Impressive Inquisitorial Agent and officially bring this guy on board.

"I'm going to check, hopefully they weren't thorough with their erasure. Colonel, is standard procedure for this planetside artillery to transmit location data? Just trying to ascertain whether the actual men at the controls are the issue, or the ones giving the orders."

Gonna tech something, at any rate.

Colonel Dotter is a pride to the Hammer of The Emperor. As the shells continue to hit the bunker he does not flinch, and he appears to only get angrier and angrier. He moves away from the cogitator and goes over to his nearby desk opening drawers and grabbing documents and putting them into a ruck sack on his desk. Lyta slides right up to the cogitator and finds that the Lieutenant did a cursory cogitator wipe, nothing a through wipe like one does when you really want data gone. She knows the data is still there, just marked as blank. The more the system is used, the more likely the data will be wiped, so she quickly pulls the data looms out of the unit for further processing later.

As Lauren starts her inspiring speech, Dotter finishes the last of his document gathering and draws his pistol. "Yes, yes fine and good. You don't need to tell a loyal instrument to maintain being loyal. I'm more concerned about the fact that my OWN ARTILLERY IS SHELLING ME!" To punctuate his point, part of the ceiling collapses. He stands still, crooking his ear toward the exposed night sky and listens to a few more vollies before rushing off, beckoning the rest to follow him. They head into what appears to be the Colonel's room. He stops quick and grabs a pict frame from the bedside table to shove in his ruck sack, and then goes to a hatch in the corner and begins to descend.

At the bottom the group finds a cramped tunnel requiring single file travel. Dotter resumes talking, "Okay, so it sounded that the shells not firing at us were traveling away from us; believe me, you spend decades around these things you can tell. Which means they are shelling us, and all my line troops out in the field. Now either they're continuing on with the danger close shelling to make my line men think the life fire drills have commenced, or they're killing all of them. Tells me the filth have likely only infiltrated the artillery crew, at least for now."

The other end of the tunnel has another ladder. Dotter motions for everyone to stay down as he goes up. A minute later he climbs back down and hand motions again to follow him. The other end of the tunnel exits right behind the mess hall. The rockcreate around is banged up with impact craters, but most of the fire is collapsing the prefab bunker. Pure anger washes over Dotter's good eye. He then stares up at the air and taps his bionic eye a few times before finally whispering "yes" to himself.

"Okay, the dumb fucks did not disable my ballistic trajectory mapping for the artillery unit I was at, which is firing at us. So I can at least have a general idea of where they are firing. Now the way I see it is we got two options, though I am open to Inquisitorial Options. First option is a bit frontal," he points to a building 100 yards away. "Inside there is an extra Chimera. She's being refurbed so the only weapon is the main cannon and she ain't got ammo, but she got armor. We can just drive her right at the nearest battery. They're all off the roads, so they are easy to drive to, but they'll also see us coming."

Dotter then points to the surrounding "forests" if 8 foot tall sickly trees counted. "We could also try to go around them and link up with the troops they're shelling. They likely think this is horrible friendly fire. Once I'm there telling them to advance, they'll do it, if they ain't all traitor. Will take time, and if their spotters well, spot us, we're sitting squigs."

The squad runs into the garage as the sound of artillery raining down is heard in the background. Dotter looks over his shoulder. "Okay, looks like they are still firing at the command bunker, but as soon as we come out of the garage, we're going to be a target, I'm sure. Hopefully, we can move faster than they can zero in on us."

Dotter fumbles with some keys and opens a side door. Inside the garage is an old Rhino* likely used as a command Rhino at some point. Dotter climbs in through the side hatch and makes his way up to the front of the vehicle. He curses, then runs back out. "Of course, the fuel tanks are empty." He runs over and drags a hose over to begin pumping promethium into the fuel tank at front of the vehicle. During the re-fueling, the incoming artillery fire stops. A glance out a near-by window shows that the command bunker has been reduced to rubble. However, the sound of artillery being fired can be heard heading the other way, and the distant sounds of lasgun shots tells everyone what they need to know; the artillery has turned on the other troops, who are fighting for their lives.

Dotter yanks the hose and runs into the Rhino, and turns it over, the engine jumping to life. Dotter runs back out, and with help from the others, pulls aside the large door to the garage. Everyone piles in, and the Rhino takes off down the road out of the camp towards the artillery pieces. The closest one is 500 meters away, and the group starts making great times. Four-hundred, three hundred, two-fifty and not a shot. Once they reach the 200 meter mark the first krak missile flies past and impacts the dirt behind them. Ahead at the nearest artillery camp those peaking out the top or the side doors can see the Guard scrambling to shift into position.

A number of the Guard take positions behind the sandbags and a few scattered Aegis defense lines. The majority have las guns, though two have plasma guns, one has a grenade launcher, and one has a missile launcher. The las guns are likely not going to do much, but the plasma guns, missile launcher, and grenade launcher could do damage.

*I know I said Chimera because I thought they had Chimera stats in the book, but they don't. So I went ahead and retconed it to a Rhino. The top pintle mount is empty, so someone can man that, also anyone who wants can open the side doors and lean out to shoot.

So we are going to do some combat from the vehicle. Your enemies are as follows:

Mob of 20 Astra militarum troopers.

Two heavy weapon troopers-Plasma

One heavy weapon trooper- grenade launcher

One heavy weapon trooper- missile launcher. They all essentially have the same stats as the astra militarum trooper from page 409 with the following changes:

They are all currently behind full cover, so their defense is 4.

The heavy weapon troopers are a little bit more veteran, so I am treating them as elites. As such, they have +tier wounds and shock, so six each. They also obviously have the listed weapons.

You are currently 200 meters away. The goal is to try and get close enough to take them all out. You may make ranged attacks from the top hatch or side hatch. There is enough room for you all to swap out in the different spaces. However, once you take an action out a hatch, you are considered hanging out it until either your next turn, or someone says "I take astus's place" This means you can be shot at by the lasgun guard. I will treat those hanging out the vehicle as it being open topped for them.

Also, I don't know if any of you want to drive. If not, Dotter will drive, but he will not do any manouvers, and will continue going straight at the enemies at cruising speed (24M) or up to twice cruising speed if requested. If one of you wants to drive you can, and I encourage it. Vehicle will move on your turn then. Things to keep in mind:

Page 235 says attacking from any weapon other than a pintle mounted weapon adds +2DN to the test. I will rule that whomever fires from the top hatch can brace their weapon against the empty pintle mount and ignore that.

According to page 319, all skill tests made aboard a vehicle moving above cruising speed get a +2DN. So how I read that is, If you are firing out of the side hatches and the vehicle is going more than 12m a round, you are taking +4DN on attacks from the vehicle.

This fight will potentially be in a couple stages. If you manage to take out the heavy weapon guys before traveling the 200M then I will assume you batton yourselves down, and drive the rhino right into the artillery camp, quickly running over/slaughtering the infantry since their lasguns can't get through the Rhino resilience, so I won't have a 100 meters of guard firing at a metal box.

If you get close enough that you want to get out and charge because the heavy weapon guys are not dead yet, then we will take combat that way.

Lastly, if your Rhino gets disabled, well, then hope you're close.

Unless someone drives, Dotter's turn will be at the end of each round.

Player go first.

Sky shoves his way to the front of the rhino, grabs the handmic, flips on the tank's external voxcaster, and lets loose the most vile stream of insults ever heard coming from a servant of His Emperor's Inquisition. The heretic guardsmen are barraged with a torrent of insults regarding their low intellect, the disappointment their mothers feel for their sorry offspring, the magnitude of the mistake their sorry judgement has resulted in them making, and, most importantly, the fact that His Emperor's Most Holy Inquisition was about to roll up and ruin their day.

Since nobody's going I'm just gonna go, even though my dice pool for this is crap.

Sky shouts out the side hatch of the rhino, since the damned thing was such in a state of refurbish it had not external vox caster. Despite the distance and the missile launcher trooper begins to visibly cry. One of the nearby guard pat him on the back, and wiping tears from his eyes, he takes aim at the rhino.

Perhaps in part due to the emotional turmoil inflicted by the ganger, or the range of the rhino, the krak missile flies over the rhino, to drop and impact behind somewhere. Dotter smiles, "You can tell these are traitors, no damned siege troop truly loyal to my command would have missed!"

Trooper goes to launch a missile at the Rhino. His BS is six, so that is his dice pool. He is already braced, so he will aim for another +1, giving a total pool of seven. His DN is the rhino defense of 3+1 for hindered, +2 for being outside of range of the missile launcher, which has range of 150, for a DN of 6.

the roll was 5,5,4,4,3,2,2, the bold being the wrath die. So he misses.

Kaenera Uthel | Wrath: 1/2

As nicely as one reasonably can given the situation, Kaenera manuevers Dotter out of the pilot's seat and into some crash webbing. Privately, she can't help but feel a twinge of disdain at the plodding pace. Was this really the best that Mon-keigh vehicles could do? Surely not. She'd seen far greater feats during the fighting in the Stygius sector. She says, "Prepare yourselves. I have no intention of letting them take shots at us freely."

With the experience of ages, the warlock quickly punches a series of buttons and levers that, if she were a simple devotee of the Imperium, might be construed as an impassioned plea for the machine spirits to bestow great haste on their travel. The engines roar in response, the tracks beginning to churn up great clumps of sod, and the Rhino shoots forward. Not a Falcon, by any means, but it would do.

As an action, taking over piloting duties and kicking it to double cruising speed. +2dn to all tests onboard, +2 defense, and we're chewing through 48m a turn.
