I'm sure they'll be able to find any number of 15 year old dudes to write such riveting dialogue as "I was put here at the dawn of time to feed on every one of you fuckers".

Kind of things I need:
"You're the Jesus of murder"
Pirate of the roads
Extended philosophical dialogues with random weirdos
occasionally a fight with a Castlevania monster

Basically I just want the last two seasons again. Except somehow godbrand has returned.

Do we know who's replacing him? I'm apprehensive given that a lot of what made the show good was in the writing but maybe they can retain some of that.

I think Shankar being frozen out is a bigger hit. His public persona is a bit much but he's very passionate about his visions and really good about implementing them.

He's the reason the show was even made in the first place after the script was sitting in a vault for 10 years.

That teaser isn't doing anything for me. It's just a teaster though, I guess.

Him reportedly being excluded is really weird because he still seems to have a bunch of projects in production for Netflix.

I remember the quipping in season 3 becoming a bit too much for me.

The dialogue was the main thing that made me interested in this stuff. It made it stand out from anime or anime inspired stuff and was legitimately hilarious and touching at times.

Ellis sucks for other reasons but he can write better than your average cartoon writer.

I got a lot of whiplash from the writing, to be honest. Like that death line a quoted was very stupid. Then he says something like "Are you going to kill me? With your bit of string?," which I thought was a pretty good line for something like him to say. Then later he goes on to say he'll tear off his head and poo poo down his neck or something. Which was stupid again.

The times when the writing was tight it was really good, but when it was corny it was really corny.

The new writer is very socialist who does limited british/icelandic thrillers so it'll probably be good.

Shankar I've always been suspicious about because he seems to buy and gather licenses and be charismatic, but very few seem to materialise (see also Assassin's Creed, Blood Dragon, Devil May Cry, Hyper Light Drifter) while the other producer has spent decades working on Cartoon Network shows that actually exist.

They really just need to switch to a series about the Morris family and vampires starting Word War 1 and 2 to bring Dracula back.

Yeah that would work too, you've got Morris and LeCarde and his daughters, then that goes to Jonathan and Charlotte, Brauner, even a shade of Richter. It seems any Castlevania game can be adapted as long as there's characters around to make a plot. Simon's Quest would have been a good one, there's enough nameless characters to make a narrative around.
