DAIJOUBU!! ... Daijoubu ?? ?

For some reason I was really hoping that at the end, Alucard was going to name his new town Castlevania. Hard cut to credits.

I thought the exact same thing. Except everyone would just immediately stop and ask "What the gently caress is that?"

Hmm, I just finished watching, and I would say that this was an excellent season. However, I had a few thoughts on things that kind of struck me as, well, kind of odd.

Is it weird that the show basically tells 2 plots that pretty much have nothing to do with each other? I mean, the deal with Dracula and his minions storyline ends up really disconnected from the deal with Carmilla storyline. The two subsets of the cast never interact nor even seem aware of each other, especially after the 2nd season. I don't necessarily think that is bad, but it does bother me a little.

Also, I am eager to see more spinoffs and sequel series and such, but considering the way the show ended, it kind of feels like you would have to move away from the games a lot.

Actually kind of funny that Trevor, Sypha, and Alucard never met Carmilla, Isaac, and Hector once.

Just finished the season. Might be the best one so far (4 > 2 > 3> 1, IMO). Very satisfying wrap up to the series but was hoping Issac was going to get some screen time in the last episode but oh well. Here's hoping they go for another one with Simon Belmont in the future.

I'm okay with "I choose to live" being his final line.

I'd honestly just do a reboot. Make it something completely different, no matter how much you love the original characters, they got their proper endings.

At first Trevor living kinda made me groan cause it seemed weird that such a dark and ruthless show would do something so toothless at the ending.... then I got to see his reaction to the village being named Treffy and him bragging about knowing he'd get Sypha pregnant the first time he tried. It's like alright, you know what, yall earned that ending.

Man the people in that first village that Sypha was starting to fix are kinda boned now aren't they? Whelp.

Watched it all last night non stop and loved it, might be the best season.

A happy ending! I thought we'd get a bittersweet one at best, and it certainly looked that way first. Can't help but wonder if they changed the ending with Trevor living instead of being dead. Trevor gets to have his family with Sypha and live in a community where he's not an outcast scorned by the wider world. Alucard obviously found a new love interest who respects him and a community that loves him. Isaac found a new purpose and managed to let go of revenge breaking that cycle of death. Hector probably got the least happy ending due to Lenore but he's free to find his own path now. The big one being Dracula and the wife being alive! What a surprise that was.

I don't really believe Lenore is dead, she went straight to ash or looked like was the case, no horrible burning up like the rest of the vamps so can't help but think that she pulled a fast one and used a magic trick to up and vanish.

Trevor kinda had a rough go at it, until the fight with Death he was getting his butt kicked quite a bit and struggling to stay alive, Alucard and Sypha did vastly more and struggled far less in battles.

Speaking of Death why did Death actually need a mirror to get to the castle? Only reason I can think of is that something in the castle prevented him from going there directly and he needed the mirror to bypass whatever kept him out.

The ending certainly doesn't seem like it allows for any follow up based on the games but a lot can happen between this show and a later Belmont. There are many games where Draculas castle is beside a town that gets absolutely wrecked so that can still happen down the line. Dracula himself doesn't seem like he would go all murder like but it's clear that he can easily fall back into that state of things should something happen to his wife. That's all speculation of course, it's clear that they made the show it's own thing taking elements of the games. If we do get a follow up which is rumoured to be happening I can easily see them doing a whole new continuity that's separate from this one.

I think the people in Targoviste might be okay, since the people aboveground are going to go down to the scene of the fighting to find a bunch of dead nobles, no living king or queen, and an immense amount of gold and treasure.

Also, even with Sypha's two-week grief vacation, I have to figure she's type-A enough that she'd eventually want to head back there and follow up.
