  Welcome to Gary Grigsby’s War in the east - SOVIET RESPONSE! Yet another LP by me, Grey Hunter. I played this game seven years ago as the Germans, and won, but now it’s time to take up the reins as the Soviet forces - this time though, I will be doing this as a video LP - this is mainly because I have a “free” Saturday night that allows me to record! I get that watching a lisping fool play a turn based may not be for What is War in the East?  This is a hardcore game with 10 mile hexes covering the entire Eastern Front in WWII. I shall be playing the Russians, so I’ll get my rear end kicked for a couple of years, then grind back to Berlin. Hopefully. I’ve not played much of the game since the last LP, but combat mechanic wise, practicing WITW has reminded me the basics. I’m hoping that, with my own general incompetence, will allow me to properly simulate the feel of the Soviet High command! What about War in the West? WE OWN YOU BITCH! WITW is coming! (please don’t break my knees, I need them) I’m currently wrapping my head around the invasion mechanics, I’ve got to the point where I can take out Sicily and I’m getting to the point where I think I know how to launch a successful invasion of mainland Italy. The air mechanics are coming together a bit as well. This will be my next LP once Combat Mission wraps, and will be a more conventional screenshot LP! Who knows, the timelines may even line up! (Yes, I fully expect to be playing all three War games at the same time!) SOVIET RESPONSE? It’s a joke from the last LP - I titled every Soviet turn like this, then I got married, and this happened.  Yeah, live with it. (Yes, I have this saved to my hard drive. why do you ask?) Schedule. I should be able to get 5-6 videos out a week, so I’m hoping for at least a half hour or so video a day from monday to friday. This week was a bit of messing around with settings, so I only have four videos for you, but now everything is sorted, I should be able to increase the rate a bit. Let’s have our rotten door kicked in!

I am actually surprisingly hyped for this. I think the Russian position is a pretty interesting one. I also think the video LP could not only be "chillax" for you but "chillax" for me too! Sometimes the SSLP stuff just burns me out after a year and I can't reach the conclusion.

Though once I did manage to have Bomber Command destroy all the manpower factories in Essen in a single large raid. Though I had this one German Panzergrenadier division in Messina that I was never able to dislodge, even after I surrounded and bypassed it. Never quite managed to wrap my head around interdiction and using airpower to gently caress up the Germans. I only really kind of got strategic bombing. Yes, a masterstroke - it was great to see the USSR do so well that the winter and rasputitsa became Germany’s only respite, however brief. Between that and GH’s excellent (current) WITP performance, it really was cause for thought about how history might have been different under those circumstances.

^^^^^ I know a lot of people do, but it's not feasable time wise for me, plus I wanted to do something different. SS lps are a lot more time consuming, but you can did down into the detail, but the do lose something of the flow of the game - watching pockets form is more interesting than seeing the results. I'll take more losses this way, but we'll be able to see a difference in play styles fairly quickly - but we will have to wait and see who's is the better style. That's mine, upens is here.
