you know I'm totally open to the idea of Gaster being a major part of the game (in fact I kinda prefer it over him just being a background thing) as long as 1) He doesn't feel out of left field in the POV of those who are unfamiliar with the Gaster stuff (perhaps even those who are unfamiliar with Undertale) 2) He fits in with the game in a thematic sense

I think it was more "keep the datamined stuff kinda hush hush for a while" and by the time he updated the game the amount of time that had passed was enough for toby to not care as much anymore.

It's neat whenever a story pretty much telegraph's a plot twist in a way that makes it less surprising to even a remotely attentive watcher but then delivers on said plot twist way earlier than anticipatedOxyclean posted:Huh, in-game has a chapter select with 7 chapter slots. would not be surprised if Toby has decided to spread out the rest of Deltarune over 2 releases instead of all at once (also wouldn't be surprised of the release of chapters 6-7 was free, though unusable to anyone who didn't buy 3-5)
