Boomer The Cannon posted:Now do this for then the NHL goes to 36 teams I'm arbitrarily instituting the conference separation rule, meaning within a city primarily then state/province and finally regionally at least, teams within the same area cannot be in the same conference. In the same way that the Yankees and Mets are in different leagues, and the Jets and Giants are in different conferences. There will still be inter/intra-league play. I'm going with Quebec, Toronto, Houston, and KC as the expansion teams. Much as I want one in SLC, I don't think that's gonna happen until after expanding past 36. Campbell Conference --- Adams Division Boston Ottawa New York (R) Pittsburgh Toronto (X) Quebec --- Ross Division Chicago Detroit Kansas City Tampa Bay Washington Winnipeg --- Smythe Division Anaheim Colorado Dallas Edmonton San Jose Vancouver Wales Conference --- Patrick Division Buffalo Montreal New York (I) New Jersey Philadelphia Toronto (ML) --- Hart Division Carolina Columbus Florida Minnesota Nashville St. Louis --- Norris Division Calgary Houston Las Vegas Los Angeles Phoenix Seattle

You cannot have Montreal and Quebec and put them in seperate divisions. I get what you're saying about the conference separation rule, but la Bataille du Quebec is one of literally 3 things QC has going for it. Even if you expanded to 36 teams.

I was catching up on recorded Jeopardy episodes and a clue from this week was about hockey in Arizona calling it blooming and claiming the Coyotes were in Phoenix. Since the question was about the AHL roadrunners it was irrelevant but how bad do you have to be to get two wrong things about you in a Jeopardy clue?

To the surprise of no one, Lemieux will very likely have a hearing when the Jets get back. The lovely, cheap-shotting bastard apple doesn't fall far from the lovely, cheap-shotting bastard tree.

The knock on Brendan lemieux has always been his lack of discipline. He has enough skill to eke out a bottom 6 role. But I don't see Maurice looking kindly on this, especially since Florida scored on both power plays that Brendan gave them, and because the jets are already a highly penalized team. Wheeler and buff do enough to make up for all the penalties they take. The jets do not need an 8 minute a night player taking 7 minutes in penalties.
