I told you so...

I recently borked my old Samsung Galaxy Tab S from 2014 and am looking for a replacement. The internet seems to disagree, but I thought I remembered paying very little for it at the time (like, sub-300$) and even then I feel like I never made full use of it, only using it to look up recipes, watch YouTube and Netflix and stream music for the dog when we leave home. Now that it's dead (the tablet, not the dog), I think I could replace it with something cheaper but I feel like I need help choosing.

My first thought was a Fire HD because it's super cheap and seems made to browse the web and watch YouTube, but a lot of reviews make it look like the screen is pretty poo poo, every app is supported by Amazon ads and is tailored toward Prime and Alexa users.

The Lenovo Tab 4 is a little pricier but seems a fait bit more traditional. The Tab 3 could also be an option, but I think I'd spring for the Tab 4 because only the Tab 3 "Essential" is significantly cheaper and it seems... lacking. Not sure why. Screen resolution seems weird.

Is there anything under the 200$ mark that I've missed? Either something in that range that's significantly better, or something cheaper that's just as good, or maybe something a little pricier but leagues ahead of what I'm looking at?

Thanks!

(If there's a tablet or other relevant thread that I missed, just show me the way and I'll close this)

There's a tablet recommendation thread in Inspect Your Gadgets. Used or new can be an important distinction and I'd get one that had full root access even if you weren't planning on putting stock firmware on it just for the option in the future.
