Vet Tix: Get tickets to sporting events, concerts, performing arts, educational and family activities across the nation, year-round. A small delivery fee is required to receive the free tickets. All currently serving military, veterans, and their family members, and immediate family members of troops killed in action are eligible for tickets through this nonprofit organization.

Home Depot and Lowe's: Both stores offer 10% off with proof of service, and Lowe's will honor it 265 days a year. Home Depot only promises retired and active duty/guard/reserves every day, but you can usually get the 10% off because the cashier doesn't care enough to nitpick.

Ocean State Job Lot : Get a 25 percent discount on most products in these discount retail stores, from Nov. 8 through Nov. 14. All active duty, Guard and Reserve members, and other veterans and their family members are eligible, with proof of service such as an ID card or state-issued license with military or veteran designation. The retail chain has 131 stores in New England, New York and New Jersey, with everything from clothing, baking supplies and bird food to rugs.

Sears Garage Doors: Get a 10 percent discount on any product or service from Nov. 9 through Nov. 12. Available to those with valid ID.

For Puget Sound and Seattle dudes, there's a few that might be worth doing, especially if you have kids.

Highland Ice Arena in Shoreline honors service members with free ice skating for everyone; skate rental is available for $4 (Monday, Nov. 12).

Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium: Veterans and active military receive free admission, and immediate families pay half-price admission (Saturday–Monday, Nov. 10–12).

Northwest Trek Wildlife Park in Eatonville: Veterans and active military receive free admission, and their immediate family members pay half-price admission (Saturday–Monday, Nov. 10–12).

Everyone can enjoy free access to our country's amazing national parks on Veterans Day (Sunday, Nov. 11; free).

Our fantastic state parks honor military too with free access for everyone on Veterans Day; no Discover Pass is required to park (Sunday, Nov. 11; free).

Woodland Park Zoo salutes veterans and active military with free admission for current and former service members and spouses plus discounted admission for up to four family members (Sunday, Nov. 11).

Local restaurants Ivar's and Kidd Valley are offering a tasty thank you to service members: a free entree (at Ivar's) or free cheeseburger, fries and a drink (at Kidd Valley) for active military and veterans, with I.D. (Sunday, Nov. 11).

Everett's Imagine Children's Museum welcomes veterans for free and all visitors can add a brick to the "Wall of Thanks" to honor military service members; ceremony at noon (Monday, Nov. 12).

Lunchbox Laboratory In Seattle does a free burger for veteran's day, which is ridiculously good. I'd recommend it. They also don't get incredibly busy with veterans, which is nice.
