One of my local stores was going to have a launch event today but no cards came.

Their new site has a bit more detail, and a peek at the next set's distinct mechanic, tokens. Still no ETA on Winds of Exchange release date, or on the return of organized play, but I'm cautiously optimistic.

(Anyone know anything about Ghost Galaxy?)

I think technically you’ve always needed opaque sleeves, so the card backs thing isn’t much of an issue.

My cynical bitter side thinks that requiring two decks for Sealed (and the minimal construction you would need for that) is just a way to sell more decks.

Maybe I’m in a minority, or just a filthy casual, but pretty much the only thing I play is Whatever We Call Old Sealed. I don’t have to worry about going through dozens of decks to see what has the best combos and the highest SAS and I know my opponents didn’t do that either. I can show up, give the FLGS :10bux: , fling some tokens around. If there’s no official support for this, not even at the casual store level for ambershards, it’ll probably die and I’ll be sad.

Why did I do the $400 level of the fundraiser :sigh:
