you can actually make a loving functional democratic socialist worker's state in tropico 1 make a big industry that makes a poo poo ton of money, like a ton of rum distilleries or gold/jewelry factories or something. then pour all that money into high rear end wages for everyone on the island. as long as you pay like 2-3x the "carribbean average wage" for every job the people vote you back into office over and over
