I haven't even seen Game of Thrones, but from what I gather of them as creators it doesn't sound like they'd make the best use of it, but it seems like a good setup at least and I wouldn't think they garnered so much hate for the last season that it'd essentially tank their public cache. Was it just that people assumed it'd glorify the idea of the South winning too much? That it'd get the history, causes etc wrong? That no-one trusted them to write that story? Or just that the idea of a show at least partially discussing racism is just that toxic that no-one wants to see it because the likelihood is it wouldn't do the theme justice? Because in the current years one of the last things most people want or need is two white guys' takes on what chattel slavery as a modern US institution might look like.

It's not hearsay. Noelle's spoken about it. The line was written ambiguously--even to her--and when it came time to do the recording session Glimmer's VA asked how she was supposed to read it, since a line intended to have that much emotion can't really be done ambiguously. Noelle told her to go romantic.

The first three seasons spent a lot of time emphasizing just how thoroughly Catra had burned that bridge with her need to show up and abuse Adora at every turn, and then how much she'd burnt all the other ones in her life after it.

"For once please stay" is a ridiculous request because the only real time she didn't was when she abandoned the Horde, and when she did that she tried to bring Catra with her. And by the time Catra is saying this, she should probably have realized that would've been the better choice.

Voyager I posted:Given the state of the world, it was immensely cathartic to hear Catra give the old 'you hurt my feelings so it's your fault I'm a Nazi now!' and see her given the appropriate rebuttal. The force behind and the finality present in that moment (Adora is denying Catra's constant physical and emotional abuse at the literal end of the world) is part of what made the last season so odd to me.
