I know it's mostly died down now, but I got into an argument recently about how this show is just evil EssJayDubya feminazi propaganda, and it was kind of illuminating how they couldn't point out a single scene or plot point that supported the Dread Agenda when pressed, just the same "look at these character designs!" poo poo from two years ago. You'd think chuds would at least complain about the presence of gay or nonbinary characters, but the people who hate this show not only haven't watched it, they seem to know literally nothing about it.

If you're not skipping every scene that doesn't have Sea Hawk in it you're not a true She-Ra fan.

I haven't even seen Game of Thrones, but from what I gather of them as creators it doesn't sound like they'd make the best use of it,

You don’t realise what an incredible understatement this part is. It’s not so much that it would be completely impossible to make the subject matter work, but it is completely impossible that D&D could have done it.

I liked how Hordak and Shadow Weaver did the full Darth Vader thing between them: snapping and throwing the true villain into a pit, and sacrificing themself to save their (surrogate) kid respectively.

Speaking of gay cartoons I’d really like to read a good write up of SPOP vs Steven Universe, particularly how they both ultimately handle villains and redemption.

I feel like more kids shows in this day and age could benefit from the message “sometimes bad people have complex emotions and tragic backstories, but sometimes they’re just big mean assholes”.

Horde Prime as well. Mostly the way he keeps stroking people’s faces and rubbing their shoulders :gonk:

Even though I knew there was literally zero chance of it happening, I too spent the entire show quietly hoping for Skeletor to appear, because we all know it would have been amazing.

Nobody will remember this bullshit nontroversy in a week, except for people who already hated the show and will use literally anything as ammunition.

LoK's biggest sin for me was making the setting as a whole feel more mundane.

Watching The Boys last night, all I could think about was how I was watching Glimmer graphically rip a Russian thug’s face off with her bare hands.

They're talking about the overlapping (voice-)actress, Karen Fukuhara. She's really good.

Yeah. It makes every episode of The Boys inadvertently hilarious/awesome because I suddenly remember “Wait, that’s Glimmer!” when she’s massacring fools.
