wow, i just finished watching the final season and what a fun ride!! :) i really feel that catra's redemption felt earned, in that there was moreso baby steps and a slow and steady change after helping glimmer out of selflessness instead of suddenly turning, especially since she always seemed pretty miserable in previous seasons!

catra overcoming her past of both abuse and being abused bit by bit is very nice to watch, and it was great to see her support adora by the end! it is significantly more interesting (and incredible) as a message instead of the bad idea that "she was toxic and evil in the past, so she Must die + bury your gays" cliche. i also feel like that selflessness and change ended up rubbing off on shadoweaver by the finale.

also, there was pretty strong themes of the power of love and friendship in previous seasons, so it would track that the finale would end up in a similar way, especially with magic!

basically what Darth Walrus has said!! :same:

Where were Kyle and co? I must have blinked and missed them.

they show up when bow's making his big speech late in the season, and rogelio also has one of hordak's baby imps(?) in a baby carrier thing

i personally read it as bow and glimmer being close friends for so long meant that they just decided to hook up after that "I love you x2" scene, but it's definitely open ended!

i'm also really wondering what happened to angella after her sacrifice? she was just stated to be stuck in the void between dimensions like gilgamesh from ff5; maybe she could still be found post-show?? :ohdear:

entrapta got pretty passive aggressive(??) at catra and her former actions at one point in s5, but scorpia's a softie for sure! :v:

I hope there's a comic or something that gets made that gets to explore some of the stuff being talked about.

a comic would be nice, or maybe an epilogue OVA or miniseries!

the other stuff is real big misinformation for the most part, but the farming 'joke' imo, just kinda shows the issue with homogeneous, all white crews on stuff and having inside jokes in that vein.

there's also the general societal issue with how racism can spread unnoticed to even people who would never describe themselves as a racist and see themselves as allies cause we all grow up in, and absorb, racism in our communities and societies. everyone's gotta really work to unlearn it, i feel like. :( this thread about racism is pretty interesting, and i particularly liked this point about engrained racism: https://twitter.com/sapphicsirena/status/1298853140289093633

yea the best way to describe it is that the sow moment legit stunk but then the facts got pretty muddled by a bunch of fake informations/bad faith readings of some additional tidbits on social media (i think the fake info got cleared up in the days following tho?)

e: i wouldn't say Everyone who criticized the sow stuff were also the same bad faith readers tbh, the whole thing was probably a mix of people who were legit disappointed at the one thing vs people who jsut like spreading bad faith info to feel better about themselves
