I had no idea this even existed. It's interesting they chose to make the game about an original character instead of just... doing whatever plot they could from the show.

This is an issue with most of the cast in Inuyasha, but Miroku feels far more like a gag character than an adventure/romcom one. It doesn't help that Miroku's curse/ability is so powerful that after a point every single story had a cloud of poison bugs hanging around just to stop him from using it. It also sucks that Sango's personality degrades into being Miroku's handler or being worried about her little brother. Also, on the "different world" thing: this happens a ton in the manga, so I think it's at best a "quirk" of the story. They rarely consider that time travel is involved. Pretty much the only reason it matters is because of Kagome being a reincarnation. Finally, on Kyokai no Rin-ne, it's a back to form gag based romcom. Takahashi's sense of humor does not seem to have changed so it's like reading more of Ranma or Urusei Yatsura. I liked it well enough. It has a varied cast of oddballs (several of them are very much new versions of other Takahashi characters) and for whatever reason the main character's poverty/budget concern gags always worked with me. It also continues the Ryuunosuke's / Ranma's Bad Dad tradition with Sabato, a spectacular scamming scumbag who is pretty much the main antagonistic force. It got a modest anime adaptation that managed to make it up to 75 episodes.
