christianity isn't so much incompatible with capital as it is its incubator and precursor. as god is the ground of being that dreamed us into existence within itself, so to did we dream our own progeny embodied in the rarefied ground of our own minds. capital moves around to world to propagate itself, it consumes, it grows and multiplies, it excretes the waste products of its consumption. it reacts to threats and acts always in its own self preservation. a superconsciousness that marshalls individual humans to its defense without a separately-extant self consciously calling the shots, just as the communal human organism does with its cells and microbiome. capitalism is christianity, only this time we took the role of gods and not creations. and like us, capitalism must inevitably murder the gods it has outgrown.
