classic case of pineapple derangement syndrome
Hello internet friends.

So some of y'all may recall that I was always talkin about how USENET was a cool and good place to post and, well, it was. But the important thing is that I was too lazy to actually run my own nntp server.

Has that changed? Absolutely not. But forums user Pham Nuwen and me got to chattin and well it turns out that he did this is a previous job and so he spun one up, and we'd like to invite YOU! Not the rest of the lowlifes reading this, just YOU!

Currently the mechanism to set up a user account is to PM Pham or send an email to phamnuwensa@gmail.com and he'll set up an account and send you the pword.

So if you want to post cat pix but post them over NNTP like a badass instead of over HTTPS like some kind of chump, hit him up.

Thunderbird works on Mac & Win & Linux. Pan is another newsreader for linux. A program called 'NewsTapLite' works, sorta, on iOS. I'm not aware of one for anroid but lol.

why restrict ourselves to NNTP when there's excellent modern protocols available like Hotline

it works just using whatever as email address, i use tankakern@yospos.net

so you don't need to worry about harvesting i guess

(assuming you send pham a pm and not a mail)

if it's possible to actually get tankakern@yospos.net as an email address, it would be neat! could be just a forward or something

not quoting stymie but i mean the email in the op is my SA throwaway mail so just register dontquoteme@gmail.com and send me an email. or send a pm.

the reason for the email or pm is so i have a private channel to send you your server password, you don't need a valid email at all to post on yosnet

or, better still, don't create a "throwaway" email that can hijacked and used for scams to sign up for some rando site that will likely be forgotten and hacked within a month
