I have a soft spot in my heart for true open-world MMOs where you do not have loading screens and can seamlessly go from one end of the world to the other. Most MMOs are terrible, but then again most games are terrible. My favorite MMOs ever however, all had this feature in it, I think it is a really important design element. Still, just like you all I do expect it is going to be a dumpster fire. But hey, if we set our expectations low we can still be pleasantly surprised!

SoT just got a big update and now it's what it probably should have been at launch. New area with volcano stuff and more rewarding voyages, skull forts are pretty much always up on every server because all of them can be active, skull forts are worth more because of the super keg, npc ships doing tony hawk tricks off of islands, skeleton fleets, rowboats, the kraken is actually dangerous and drops loot, giant sharks that drop loot, etc. Also cargo runs for if you wanna just do some eurotrucking. If you just want to play a pirate game it's v good now.
