Love the SotL chat, thanks all. "Christmas Evil" is one my favorite MOVIES, let alone the sub-sub-genre classification. Stoked for the Vinegar Syndrome 4K release.

Dude that is WILD... I say this as a person who used to be 6' 4" @ 150. Thankfully, I'm now a lumbering 250lb madman. Start drinking beer and lazily pumping iron.

On topic: The Conjuring and Insidious I/II could have been hellaciously better with a couple of tweaks.

Yeah I've seen it but thats definitely a great reccomendation, looking for more of that stuff. The remake was great too.

I feel like you've likely already scoured these titles, but Toolbox Killer and Bronx Warriors (not really horror) come to mind

Edit: Maybe "House on the Edge of the Park"? Truly a dirty movie.

On the topic of slashers, are any of the Sleepaway Camp sequels worth watching?

Part II is fantastic, it's literally one of my go-to movies. Part III is sort of directionless and soft-core porny (not in a fun way) - I especially take umbrage with the totally nonsensical sexual relationship that Pollard has with one of the campers (of course, the original had the weird relationship between Meg and the camp director, which didn't make sense either). I dunno, watch em!

The Stand mostly had excellent casting with Gary Sinise, Matt Frewer, Miguel Ferrer and M O O N standing out. It does a great job in the first half but the 2nd half is fairly meh. Great soundtrack though.

Some loving key "Horror Thread" stunt casting - The doctor at the CDC that confronts Stu is the same dude who played 'Bub' in "Day of the Dead". Probably one of my favorite stories... I've read the unabridged book like 10x and have watched the mini-series like 20x :spooky:

Also, this is a bit of a cross-over, but the first episode of "Amazing Stories" is really good. I've got a soft-spot in my heart for the original series.. It was one of the first things that really freaked me out as a kid (The Babysitter, Head of the Class etc).

Hi spooks - very much a lurker, but consider me Kvlt! In 20 years as we suffer from the same affliction. I have a massive persecution complex, I identify threats that aren’t there, I have a hard time comprehending people’s motivations, and if I get upset about something, it’s very hard to turn it off without totally disengaging and releasing that energy somewhere else. No amount of logic applied can stop the emotions from happening, so I have to disengage in the conversation- give myself some breathing room between immediate emotion and action and allow logic and calm to return before I re-engage. I like Kvlt and the horror thread very much. Hope this helps both.

I did a lot of great things and had to retire at about 35 after a complete nervous breakdown. I have a very loving group of friends that I spend time with, but posting on the internet for me is just playing with fire. I love reading peoples takes here and learn a lot about new releases and just sort of share in the fun without sticking my foot in my mouth every time I say something. It’s genetics, I didn’t decide to be difficult.

Im being serious, but I’m truly thankful to come back to tasteful funny commentary on something that is pretty horrific. I’d expect nothing less!

Hi I’m posting

I feel like these free streaming services are cracking the seal on a lot of old stuff I’d forgotten about like ‘Don’t Go in the House’ and ‘One Dark Night’ - ODN takes some time to ramp up but, my god, the last 30 minutes are filled with grotesque, very realistic looking long-dead corpses terrorizing people in a locked Mausoleum - It’s straight grim.

Don’t Go was borderline Christmas Evil levels of weirdo mental illness as horror. It’s a truly strange movie. Feels like a cheap rip off of Sybil or something, awesome.

I finally watched The Stuff all the way through and it is FUN. I loving LOVED Michael Moriarty, what a kook. Was wanting more Moriarty so I looked him up and also watched ‘Q: The Winged Serpent’ for the first time, and holy poo poo - he is even MORE unhinged in that flick.

Anywhizz that’s been my Saturday :banjo:
