This is cause, when choosing Focus, the first step for enemies is to consider the path requiring the least movement to get into los&range to execute their attacks; and only after that they consider distance and initiative values to break ties.

All 3 potential focus targets are at Range 3 from Drake2; but After Drake 3(E) moves to B4, Drake 2 is going to need 3 hexes of movement to reach Ash and only 2 to reach either Pikachu or Splinter. It is then going to focus Pikachu cause his initiative is lower.

Tbh, Pikachu and Splinter tanking a round of hits could be good to save some health on poor Ash. First rooms are often hard, and this is certainly a meat grinder.

Thanks for the clarification :) in that case, Splinter's Step 2 orders are:


use Mind's Weakness TOP to attack drake 6 in E3; use Perverse Edge BOTTOM to attack ooze 1 which I presume will have moved to E4. (unless there's a rules reason for it to go to G3 instead, which is fine I guess.)

Next turn, I'm going to RATSPEED and see if I can't shred drake 6.

Yes! Apologies I have missed that. In any case, due to the nature of asynchronous play, you can always use your Potions before StepA orders have been revealed, so you have plenty of time to request this.

You know what I'm doing. Going as fast as I can, strengthen myself up and hit those two drakes next to us as hard as I can while stunning them. I will probably be killing the elite drake, so I recommend you focus on the regular one. Bear and mystic ally should have the other elite drake covered.

And of course I'll be using that ice and fire.

Ok, provisional step B orders in; my plan is to help stab Drake 2 if it's high health, otherwise to go over to Ooze 1 and start laying into it.

Unless thread thinks it'd be better to poison-jump down to the unstunned Ooze and do as much damage to it as possible before it splits?

If Lina heals Ash then Pikachu can use the bottom of Blood Hunger himself. Command cards can be used by the BT as well.

I'd say go wild on ooze 6, the drakes will be locked down (or dead) and you only need 7 damage to kill it since it's providing the other 2.

E: Pikachu orders:
a) If elite drake 3 is at 2 hp or less, use Disorientating Roar top for the XP. E2: Pikachu will be the one using it
b) otherwise, feed that card to Ash

c) If somehow elite drake 3 is still alive, kill it with the bottom of Blood Hunger
d) otherwise, Pikachu will use that card himself (for once) and attack the normal drake.


We'll be using the heal all next turn, situation is back under control.

Are you sure about that? I don't think that's the case. I think Pikachu should use the top of Energizing Strike to clear the wounds, for what it's worth.

On the other hand, Ash is at range 2 from Lina and I didn't read the range on her heal so the point is moot.

Pikachu will use energizing strike next turn, but there's little point in clearing wounds if the drakes will reapply those immediately.

RAW, though, the BT should be able to use the command cards himself since the text is misleading:

Using cards yourself is the default in GH, so the rule on the card seems to imply that you can have the Bear use them on top of being able to use them yourself.

Ash is a touch too far from the oozes, he can reach 8 but not 6, so whatever, dead turn to use an heal all.

Like I said, I'm planning to move to D4 and I'll attack both oozes with the top of Forked Beam.
Between the mystic ally, the bear, and forked beam, we have a decent chance at downing ooze 8, so I recommend Splinter uses his attack on ooze 6.

And I'll be long resting next round.

Phew. That was a rough first room. Do we want to wait a turn and loot and rest, or forge ahead?

Yeah, that was rough, but we got through it just fine. I'm out of cards, so I need to rest this turn. Going to put orders in for a long rest next turn. Then turn after that I can open the door with AOE stun ready.

Might not be a terrible idea to have Pikachu do an early long rest just to clear that wound, as I'm not sure we have any other way of clearing it right now. Bear and the mystic ally can finish off that last ooze. Or maybe it will kill itself?

Nothing else should be able to reach Pikachu so we have 4 turns to short rest, the only HP that matters is the last one.

I think 34, Rampage, Punch Through is the play here. Top of punch through to eat the ooze, bottom of rampage to reposition Ash towards the door.

Just remember that the wound damage ticks before the long rest heal happens, so he needs to long rest before he gets to 1hp.
