Weird to have a world juniors where the US won't play Canada at any point. If the Czechs or Slovaks can upset then they won't play Russia either.

I’m still wrapping my head around the fact that team canada brass fielded a team in which their captain is the most unlikable player in the tourney and is openly mocked by other teams. Quite the statement about the program.

Canada scored 14 goals in their first game then 10 in their next 4.

I really liked how they gave him player of the game. He deserved it but I also took it as a low key “you guys suck” to the rest of the team. Like “hey you know that goalie who just gave up the winning goal? He’s still better than all of you”

Don Cherry is gonna call Tim Hunter a twat for letting Comtois take the penalty shot. He's also gonna rag on the fragile sticks these kids are using these days.

I love how Canada either still just chokes in the quarters or wins the whole tournament without losing a single game. No intermediary result. Losing to Finland in OT in a low scoring game isn't too bad, but I can't say I had expected it to be them either. If they were going to get bounced by anyone I would have figured it to be Sweden, USA or Russia in that order of likeliest to least likely. They also haven't been by far and away the best team in the Juniors in years (lately I'd say Sweden seems to bring the strongest looking teams on paper), it's so much more even between the top 4 these days. Anyway considering Sweden also got bounced early says a lot about the state of this tournament and how any team has a realistic chance of beating any team now unless they're Kazakhstan or Denmark. United States had some close games against Slovakia and Czech Republic too. Kale fucked around with this message at 23:39 on Jan 4, 2019 |

The Canadian hockey establishment must loving hate him for not just speaking in cliches Then again I have a feeling what he said might be a hockey cliche in his native language. Finnish hockey analysts tend to say that kind of stuff all the time too, like a team or their fans can be "horny" or "in heat". Certainly not so common figure of speech in North America though
