– Sean Radican over at Pro Wrestling Torch had some exclusive details regarding talent contracts for All Elite. According to Radican, AEW has signed several independent wrestlers to “holding deals” that will convert to full deals once the promotion secures a TV deal. The contracts are said to be quite lucrative, with the floor being “a good six figure deal.”

Didn't know this was public but yup. Mostly the All In roster and few other well-known indie names. The holding deals are monthly.

There are several IMPACT contracts in March that's all I know. There are two names I've heard that are AEW bound. No idea about Johnny either way though.

HUGE SHOCKER

I'm just curious how many WWE people have their contracts running up and/or would want to flat out quit to join this instead. Have to imagine most of the 205 people and a few NXT guys. I'm kind of sad WWE sunk their teeth into Mustafa Ali and promoted him lol.

There will be some of that but a lot of WWE jumps will be Cody's pals Ryder, Ziggler, Cesaro and MAYBE Kevin Owens. There is a level of resentment towards the NXT generation from the FCW/OVW talent. A lot feel they were dropped too soon in favor of shinier new toys. Also, they are older and see WWE for what it is and likely want the lighter schedule.

I just said he's friends with Cody.

Obviously, the Vince McMahon Austin interview exists and he was shuffled into a (good) tag team as they weren't going to let him be a singles stars.

AEW's only bet for success hinges on them being able to do a lot of things well with a razor thin margin for error. They need to put out a good product, market the poo poo out of it, get a TV deal, and attack the WWE's brand as the only game in town.

If they were smart they'd use Khan's connections to get a hit piece published digging some of the many skeletons from WWE's closet.

If you want to know about the AWE/ROH/New Japan dynamic.

Even though there are no real ROH guys at the Dome show, I've heard that Delirious, Gary Juster, and Greg Guilard are going to head off a potential meeting between New Japan and Tony Khan.

Delirious is meeting with Rossy from STARDOM too.

Was talking to someone in the Wrestling industry today (god I sound like such a tosser I know but what's new?). But he was wondering what the tagline Double Or Nothing means as a tagline for All In. He suggested to me that it could mean they will channel Memphis Wrestling and offer to refund all the fans in attendance if the sound doesn't draw double the attendance of the first All In (11,263). Personally, I think is a smart idea given the budget AEW reportedly has. If they draw close to 22,526 it will show TV Companies, sponsors, partners they are a real player and they will make the money back. It will further bond them with fans as they will get either loaded Wrestling show or a free loaded Wrestling show.

Or could be an empty "TNA Against All Odds" name and that's it.

Why would there be no way? It is a pretty decent use of marketing spend. Also look at arenas AEW's Twitter is following.

And knowing Elite fans they'll probably spend the refund on merch at the show.

Meltzer does lean into the idea he's in the tank for Elite giving the Cody Dome a pass, for example, doesn't help the perception. But personally, I am bored of it all. I do think Meltzer would give advice for free because he's DAVE. And wants to improve the industry.

I'd be a little surprised if Meltzer was making money off of AEW because he seems to consider himself a real journalist and hold himself to those standards. I wouldn't be surprised if he gave some free advice though or had kept quiet on things for the AEW guys.

Meltzer mentioned how much the Bucks mean to him/touched him as parents in his obituary to his own father. As they could travel across Oceans and American Coasts just to have a few hours with their kids.

Covering the US Wrestling scene must have been SO tedious. With WWE/Vince having all their hardcoded issues and TNA and Dixie Carter completely making GBS threads the bed and missing out the window they had to take serious market share from WWE.

I can see why he has embraced the Elite has much as he has and has stepped outside of the levels of objectivity he should display.

Right, and when he sets that standard, and then he tries to play the fool on these AEW stories, that doesn't strike you as odd? It's just a baffling stance, I think, to publicly be very good friends with these folks and then occasionally ignore that relationship and act like you're just as clueless as everyone else, then suddenly get scoops you're only gonna get as a friend. Like the whole thing leading up to the AEW announcement was super off-putting to me. Every WOR episode was the same poo poo: "uhhh yeah well they've got trademarks but it's nothing without a TV deal." And then he scoops BTE!

I don't have a massive problem with all of this, I just think he's trying to put on a show here and it looks silly as poo poo.

Likely a fake out. But Tye and Cody were a tag team in OVW. Meltzer in the Observer would write love letters about Tye and stated Cody was 18 months away to called up. Tye/Shawn Spears was a real standout at the time.

WWE called up Cody when his body hadn't even filled out yet. Tye was called up in a failure on the WWE ECW brand.
