in other news the UK Financial Conduct Authority is doing a consultation on cryptos. Draft paper (PDF). basically they're trying to fit a pretzel-shaped crypto into the square hole of existing laws. I blogged about it because this is my curse now if you're feeling like an erudite crypto skeptic anywhere in the world, you should probably respond, 'cos all the regulators talk to each other. also, posting  into all the boxes is unlikely to make it to the final version

From the people who didn't bring you KodakCoin as well as taking calls about quadriga, the other half of what i've been doing this week has been repeated edits on a previous version of this article. i realised it was bad and boring, wrote a version where i said what i thought of this idiocy in 2 hrs and josh quittner said that was what he'd been thinking of. i'm cooking up one for next week on quadriga already. the other other half is a freelance piece on why bitcoin is bad actually for Foreign Policy no less, who don't pay as well but sound impressive. here's to making more money from bitcoin than a supermajority of bitcoiners, without ever touching one!
