Yeah I think it’s Deadspin that does the article about the names in the amateur hockey draft or whatever and those names are hilarious. Just the whitest names ever.

The only name I saw in all those names that really stood out to me was a kid named "Jif." I suppose it was Jeff washed through an accent and phonetics, but his parents could have been big peanut butter enthusiasts, I guess.

I've got a .txt file I keep at work of all the good ones I come across, no apocryphal stories, no urban legends, if it's on the list I've seen their official record. It cuts across all demographics. White people give some extremely stupid loving names to their kids too. My favorite of all time was an Iraqi immigrant, though. Seema Muwafaq Yousif. Other good ones were Unknown Sean (his legal name), several kids named Alan Bama _____, we've had several wacky legal name changes but those feel like cheating (one woman added Doctor to the beginning of hers and Christ to the end of hers), a transgender woman who while changing her legal gender also changed her name to Night Fury, and yeah we had a few of the dog-whistley ones like Aretrashia and Shitaraji. double edit- I think Gunner Tingle was my favorite ever white kid name GD_American fucked around with this message at 04:30 on Jan 11, 2019 |
