They said AJ Allmendinger was going to be on the broadcast team for the Rolex 24, but IMSA.com has him on the entry list so ? https://www.imsa.com/news/012019/57...RaxWRqcDDRaV1LI e- If anybody cares, it sounds like Dave Burns is going to be one of the pit reporters for IMSA during the non-NBC portion of the NASCAR schedule. N: The NBC Rolex 24 announcer roster will alternate every three hours for the duration of the race and is basically all hands on deck from NBC's motorsports properties: A-Team: Booth- Leigh Diffey, Calvin Fish, AJ Allmendinger Pits- Marty Snider, Dave Burns, Kelli Stavast Peacock Pit Box- Krista Voda, Steve Letarte, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Townsend Bell Roving Reporter- Rutledge Wood B-Team: Booth- Rick Allen, Paul Tracy, Townsend Bell, Brian Till Pits- Jon Beekhuis, Kevin Lee, Parker Kligerman Peacock Pit Box- Krista Voda Roving Reporter- Rutledge Wood The announcer pairings change from time to time; Till goes to the A team from 9-Midnight, for example. Townsend Bell and AJ Allmendinger are both running the race in addition to doing TV. Given that they're not on the overnight shifts, I'm guessing that's when they'll be in the cars. There are also a pile of drivers who have run the race (Fish, Dinger, Junyer, Bell, PT) or covered it (Till) on the crew. V: Oh good, Rick Allen is going to have four different classes to get all sorts of confused. Also, Rutledge. e- I guess the link would help for full details: https://www.imsa.com/news/012019/nbc-sports-surrounds-57th-running-rolex-24-daytona-17-its-imsa-nascar-and-indycar CBJSprague24 fucked around with this message at 19:06 on Jan 17, 2019 |

orange juche posted:NBC is going to want to show NASCAR and IMSA that they won't gently caress up the race coverage like FOX. I fully expect them to gently caress the commentary up later in the year but for the first race of their new contract for sports coverage, they're going to be interested in not ruining it right out the gate. I'm curious to who does the whole season beyond Diffey, Dinger, and Fish. I figure Brian Till will be a part of it. With those four alone, it should be decent to good; I still maintain FOX's Rolex broadcast team when it was Diffey/Fish/Dorsey Schroeder, with Till and Chris Neville in the pits, was the best racing combo I've ever heard. They just called the race.

Cool of NBC of showing the PC race during The Roar which that's promising compared to what Fox gave us. harperdc posted:99% sure the Radio Le Mans crew will still be doing their IMSA Radio coverage this year. No, I know NBC's providing their own commentary. I wondered if they'd provide their own graphics or something different, though using the IMSA.tv graphics may have just been for PC.

Jordan Taylor's moving to GT next year, driving the #3 Corvette with Antonio Garcia. I'm curious to see who WTR gets to replace him because, with a few other teams shutting down, there might be some decent-to-good names out there looking for a quality ride.

MazeOfTzeentch posted:I hope Briscoe is good at chassis setup, that's really where the team was lacking since Ricky left. Glad to see some ex-ford drivers finding their feet. Dixie in a non-Ganassi car is jarring. Briscoe, too, really.
