I did everything on it, including the cover art after a buddy I had contracted to do it had a hard drive die on him. I think my next project is going to be a YouTube series on how to record release ready tracks on as little money as possible. I already have a few songs recorded for that, and then my OS died on me.

I always forget this thread exists so here's some stuff I've made over the last year. Collected Disgust This is an improvised noise / industrial live jam. Recorded with a Novation Circuit, assorted distortion pedals and an ear infection. Gibrietas - Yzi The Maggot This is a release of dungeon synth based around the exploits of one of my D&D characters Yzi, a goblin warlock. Fairly traditional dungeon synth in the vein of early Mortiis and the like. THMPRSS - Glaive of Hodir / Cloaked Matriarch My latest release, raw black metal and dungeon synth, was a concept piece to play around with faster, rawer black metal than I usually make. Coven of the Pestilent One - Transitions An instrumental and a track that was on a compilation put together, fairly straight forward black metal.

This isn't normally my "genre" (loosely used) but overall lots of good stuff, I think Justice was my favorite. Heard good buzz about the game too. I tried making a tune last night with a weird-ish cadence/time signature, KORG made this somewhat tricky at times but it was fun trying to challenge myself with something a bit more off-kilter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7RWCHrD0Oc

Been a hot minute since I’ve posted anything, but I recently did some soundtrack work for a VR game, Blobkin Blaster. https://open.spotify.com/album/0rlOA1VTb4MdpcuCOb3HBa I did tracks 12-20 and 26, rest were by Caleb Winters. It’s also on Apple Music if anyone prefers that. Was an interesting process - didn’t have a ton of time (couple of weeks) as I work for the studio as my day job, so the music was done “after work”. I had to figure out how to knock out short tracks quickly, instead of my usual “get 70% done, sit on the track for a year until I finish”. I also got to score the release video, and man! Cueing to action is so bizarre, had to figure out melodies, rhythm and tempo that were pretty fluid yet felt normal, and I have infinitely more respect for people who score now. I definitely want to do more soundtrack work in the future, was neat to approach music this way! This is neat! Makes me think of Castlevania for some reason, specifically the DS ones, and anything that does that is awesome in my book!

I'm trying to make it different from my normal space_hoers stuff, but I think I might have failed at this, since it still sounds like video game music. https://alonetone.com/spacehoers/tracks/a-clearing-in-the-forest https://alonetone.com/spacehoers/tracks/the-ominous-cavern https://alonetone.com/spacehoers/tracks/the-endless-corridor I also did another track about a pet.. this time, it's about a snake. https://soundcloud.com/the_door_is_scary/snapper-the-spotted-python

Hey thanks everybody I appreciate y'all checking out my stuff!im_sorry posted:
I think these tracks work well as dungeon synth. It's a pretty loosely defined genre anyway and there's a lot of crossover with video game music (I think several DS labels have done bootleg releases of various game OSTs) so I wouldn't sweat that. They're cool tracks either way.

My first official album is coming out November 26th via EK Product! It's called Revenant, and it's the culmination of 20 or so years of refining my sound and finding my voice. People who have checked my Bandcamp before know a few of the songs already, but there's also a ton of 100% new material that I've been working on, and I'm excited for everyone to hear it. release details here: http://www.ekproduct.com/releases/tangent-strategy-revenant/

I've been meaning to post in this thread for a while, but COVID got me down and I just haven't been motivated... I've been out of the music scene the last decade pursuing an unrelated career and otherwise getting caught up in life, but last summer I took the time to upload a bunch of my old bands to Bandcamp. Much of it hadn't been online before, so I'm just happy I took the time to get it put up somewhere. It's a mix of indie rock, some stuff with a folkier sound, some stuff with a dancier electronic sound. I was mostly based out of Victoria, BC. Played up and down Vancouver Island and around Greater Vancouver. Introverter - s/t - Spotify Fast, guitar-driven indie rock. I wasn't a founding member of this one, but was a friend of the group. I helped out with the recording of this album. I've got a guest musician credit and thank you in the liner notes. I joined on as a full member after its release in 2008, because they kept hemorrhaging drummers. I joined as the bassist, though--the original bassist moved to drums. Introverter - Fold Originally intended to be a full-length second album, we got through recording five songs before the whole thing collapsed. Gigantic egos for such a small time band, but so it goes. I was bummed out because I felt the tracks we had here were some of the strongest stuff the band had done. First five tracks were new stuff intended for the second album, all recorded in 2009. Last two tracks are b-sides from the first album's recordings the previous year. Boy Nun Boy Nun - How Magnets Work This is like an Introverter 2.0 kind of thing. Three of the members were former players in Introverter. We were going for a dancier synth-based sound here. I had a lot of fun with this one, but it also fell apart. Again, egos and differences in visions, so it goes. There are a few tracks from our setlist that never go recorded, sadly, but they were our weakest stuff. In particular, I was happy that "Margaret Thatcher" got recorded. That was an old Introverter song and I was worried we weren't going to get that one recorded--but we did! These were recorded in 2010. The Daylights - Power Lines Empower Minds Some of my earlier recorded stuff. 2007 indie rock. A handful of songs I wrote and grabbed some friends to help me record. "The Daylights" was the solo moniker I performed with. It was usually a rotating cast of musicians and I saved it as an opening act for other bands I played with (like Introverter) when we didn't have enough bands on a ticket. There wasn't really a strong theme to the songs, as I was experimenting with what kind of sounds I liked. All I remember is I'd been listening to a lot of Fiery Furnaces at the time. Production is more more lofi/DIY--we were recording these tracks in the basement of my friends' parents' house. We used a broom closet as the sound booth, haha. The Daylights - Épée Another smaller handful of solo stuff written for The Daylights act. I was leaning for a faster more guitar-driven sound with these because I had been playing with Introverter at the time. These were recorded sporadically in 2009 between recording stuff for "Fold". Production is much better because we were renting the studio for it.
