In mid-December last year the National Lottery announced a £500,000 grant to the trans youth charity Mermaids.
However, almost immediately the grant was put under review due to a campaign spearheaded by professional poo poo Graham Linehan.
Linehan posted to the terfymams forum Mumsnet on December 16th, urging concerned mothersbigots to complain to the Big Lottery Fund.
On December 17th, the Big Lottery Fund released a statement saying they would review the grant.

On January 14th, 2019, Goon YouTuber Hbomberguy uploaded a video announcing a livestream speedrun of Donkey Kong 64 to 101% completion in aid of Mermaids, stating Linehan's Mumsnet campaign as inspiration.
The stream started on January 18th and ran for over 57 hours, attracting such notable persons as Jim Sterling, Lindsay Ellis, Grant Kirkhope, Eric Taxxon, John Romero, Chelsea Manning, Dr Chuck Tingle, and Democratic House representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Overall over $340,000 has been raised for Mermaids, payable as a lump sum without condition.

Utilities Poll:guitar:
Last months poll results came in, with almost half of participants paying for their gas and/or electricity via Standing Order or the bourgeois Direct Debit. Wall for all of us.
Next most popular was powering your home via a certain forums poster, followed by some form of prepaid meter at just over 10% for all. Fortunately nobody is living in one of those godforsaken units with prepaid water.
Following from that, almost neck and neck, is utilities being included as part of a tenancy/cohab/basement dwelling. Or powered by boiling hot takes.
And we have a handful of posters or lurkers who have succeeded at getting off-grid or have coal delivered. Or are allowed to scavange coal from their local pit, I think that's still a thing.

• A Vegan sausage roll causes some fake beef between Piers Morgan and Greggs.
• The NHS phases out fax machines.
• Hitachi announces the suspension of work on the £20bn Wylfa Newydd nuclear plant in Wales.
• There's a spate of van hijackings and carbombs in Derry.
• The House of Commons rejects Theresa May's deal on the UK's withdrawal from the European Union by 432 votes to 202, one of the largest defeats in history.
• She then goes on to survive a vote of no confidence and announce a Plan B, which is the same as Plan A.
• Wait no, there's now 10 new plans including Kit Malthouse's Dahir Insaat insanity.
• Some amendments got voted on. Grieve failed. Cooper failed. Reeves failed. Spelman passed (but has no legislative force). Brady passed (but the EU rejected it in advance).
• North Wales police have announced a de facto decriminalization of cannabis, in a change led by anti-prohibition Police and Crime Commissioner Arfon Jones.
Bruce Schneier has torn into GCHQ's bad plan to allow ghost users to snoop on chats. And apparently it's Trivial to detect anyway, lol.

My dad technically runs his own business doing gardening for folk rich enough to both have a decent sized garden and not be arsed to cut the grass and weed the flowerbeds themselves, maybe he should get in touch to be a businessman for Remain. Never mind that he doesn't actually employ anyone else full-time (& the people he does employ get above market rates, he's a good egg my da), he must be accorded the same attention as James Dyson & Tim Wetherspoons.

I can't believe any Labour MP will believe a promise for extra spending would actually happen in exchange for a vote. They've got no leverage over the Tories once the vote passes, assuming May even stays on beyond the absolutely minimum time period and would piss off the Labour party massively.

If anyone flips it's because they want to flip.
