Alliance of American Football  This is apparently happening. It didn't blow up in the planning stages. There are players on teams and the teams have places to play. They call it "... an eight-team league that exists to both complement the NFL during the offseason and showcase local, developing talent." Christian Hackenberg has a starting spot. So after the Super Bowl, get ready for a whole bunch of games that will probably be a bit hard to watch and also lacking the storylines of the NFL. It might work.  Teams and Coaches

Looking at these rosters is a real gold mine of "huh, haven't thought of that guy in a while." Atlanta has Denard Robinson! Remember him? Nick Folk is still getting employment somehow! Birmingham has TRENT RICHARDSON, who I didn't even know was still alive! Arizona has Rahim Moore, who I could've sworn retired years ago! I will watch the gently caress out of this league for like two weeks before getting bored
