So, in 1989 the world was blessed with the release of the Yamaha YM2612 soundchip which was installed in the Sega Genesis/Megadrive home video game console.

As anyone who has had the fortune of growing up with a Sega knows that there was never a sound chip in existence, either before or after, that matches the twangy, quasi-electrical tones of that chip and in celebration I'd like everyone to post their favorite music track from that era.

Trouble Shooter Vintage has something like twice the drum samples of the average Genesis game, it's soundtrack is out of control.

Also, if you loved Genesis music I highly highly recommend checking out PC-98/88 music. Many of the same composers (such as Koshiro himself) cut their teeth on the platform, and the sound hardware is almost completely identical.
