Game's real loving good. Shame about the Delta-3's but this is actually a beta so eh. Seeker Mines are incredible, the first time I threw one at a guy on a second floor balcony and it climbed up the wall to blow him up I was giddy.

That and the healing drone are my favorites so far.

Farewell, good Hunter. May you find your worth in the waking world.

I’ve only played the first mission, but it’s so good. Like D2 but better in many ways and the running, gunplay, cover just feels sleeker or slimmed down or something. It’s great. The settings are amazing. I’ve been going healing drone and air burst seeker mine and hoo boy are those fun times.

How do I turn off those “agent needs help” things in the Xbox? Can’t find the setting.

Again, the tiny text is killing me. Is there a way to report this to Ubisoft as like a thing that needs to be fixed? I’m in my late 30s and play on a big tv and the 5 point font makes my old brain hurt.

That's annoying the piss out of me too. It is CONSTANT. I set myself to private and it didn't do poo poo for the relentless every 30 second 'agent needs help' barking at me.

Font size is in the options - it comes up when you first start the game and forces you to confirm alongside subtitles. It defaults to small.
They had to patch in a bigger font size with the first, they weren't going to leave it out.

So far for me it feels like more of the same except over saturated and in a city I am unfamiliar with. Not sure if I'm totally sold, might just go back to the first for a while.

Fallen Rib
I got Delta 3'd in the middle of the boss battle in the Hotel mission, so I guess that is it for the night for me. Still, I am really liking what I see. Particularly the whole post-disaster lived-in feel of the area and the settlements. That is my poo poo. And the Hyena's are delightfully ridiculous. Give me more Hyenas and Cleaners, and less Rikers and Looters.

Skill system also probably eliminates my biggest grievance with the first game, in that starting out you don't have a whole lot of options and you are just basically "Good Guy With Gun" instead of "High Tech Secret Solider" and you need to suffer for a few missions like that. Took the Seeker Airburst (My fav from the first game) and the drone bomber, for maximum war crimes. Kinda wish I went with the turret for the later instead but I never felt I was underpowered like I did early on in the first.

The one thing I hate is aiming the skills, where you point the mouse cursor on the ground you want to deploy to. However, simply put the default camera makes this kind of miserable. Hopefully they improve upon this by launch.

Also, LOL on the intro movie Did YOU have a gun?

EDIT: Then again for the skills, it feels more like they are leaning on offense which I do like, as opposed to Division 1's THREE offensive skills out of the 9.

EDIT2: Also, is it just me or are enemies a little smarter too? I had several enemies try to flank me which I do not remember happening much in Division The First if at all.

I wish 90% of the guns weren't single shot rifles, at least give me burst!

Otherwise I'm enjoying the game. I've noticed some sound effect glitches with guns when fighting bosses, but Otherwise it's been a solid beta (outside of disconnects).

This is a solid shooter but the movement mechanics of Anthem just appeal to me more. I'm sure I'll come back to this one though since I love the atmosphere.

I think it's 'shade' and they start to mention it in the later missions and endgame of Division 1 in my somewhat flawed memory. Came up more in the season pass stuff as well.

No one man should have all that Psycho-Power.

I played around for a while and had some fun, just a few questions though about the series in general I have never played the first game so this is all new to me.

1) Is there any way to switch between firing rates for guns? Or are some guns just forever full auto, some forever semi auto?

2) In matchmaking PvP is there any easier ways to see where exactly the fighting is supposed to be? There is no minimap and no real way to discern where the enemies are. I kinda just ran around like a chicken with my head cut off.

3) Is there anyway to transmog items? Aka you keep the look of the item you like, but the stats of a better item? To me any MMO style game fashion is king over anything else.

Game great. Characters look much more dynamic, even though a bit more comicy. Weapons feel much better and I love the way the world looks post-apocalyptic but still realistic.

My group noticed a bug though:
When you are at the theatre settlement and walk down the ramp from the highest roof to the middle where the projects lady is, it tanks your fps. mine went from solid 60 to 12 and stuck there my buddy from ~90 to 30 and recovered at some point. I had to restart. That is the only place in the game that does that and it was reproducible. It did it, whenever we stood at the top of the ramp at the point where flat goes into downward slope and looked around.

I ignored division 1 and only tried this beta as requested by friends so it's pretty much my very first impression of the game. I have no idea what I'm doing but it seems very good for what it's trying to be? The recent anthem demo is definitely coloring my impressions here because that was pretty much a trash fire and this feels like a finished game. other than a couple (expected) connection problems and a memory leak, everything feels like it just works. the skills feel very underwhelming with massive cooldowns but I guess they aren't the focus. the shooting feels good and that seems to be the point, so this game might steal anthem from me. Looking good.

e: Also gotta thank ICR for my key again, you're awesome.

It's a tiny snippet without context, so I get why it feels disconnected to you if you haven't played the first game (I have over 300h in it) The skills will surely be viable a lot of gear and weapon specs reduced civilians in 1. Bomb drone wrecks face already.
I got this game with my new cpu purchase, otherwise I' d but it day 1.

And yeah Anthem was a garbage fire of epic proportions in contrast..

I can't help but compare this game to the recent Anthem shitshow, and despite thinking mechs and space magic are way cooler than a Tom Clancy tacticool shootman, the Division 2 beta has been a much more stable and dare I say fun experience. I don't remember too much from the month or so I played TD1 but the interface and UI all feel super slick, the game runs amazingly well on Ultra, and minus some sudden disconnects I've been able to put in a couple good hours retaking the streets of DC and upgrading dem green numbers. My only complaint is that the skills feel kind of underwhelming so far like they did in the first game, but can I see the potential with all the unlockable mod slots and evolutions. I do like how some of the abilities such as Seeker Mine and Bombardier Drone require more direct input from the player and aren't just brainless skills you mash on cooldown. I could definitely see myself wasting a lot of time on this!

Sorry for the unwanted dissenting opinion but I need a place to rant for a bit. My first impression for the game was a pretty bad one. Granted, this could partially be my fault because I hyped it up a bit too much in my mind. Guess I'll never learn on that front but there was honestly good reason to trust them with the way they fixed up Division 1 and made it super fun at the end.

the good:
- really lively world
- shooting people is still really fun, especially the TTK feels great!
- banging DOOM2016 soundtrack in the second story mission

the bad:
- auto-floating around objects in the gameworld. It kinda feels similar to the loss of control of old xbox ports where auto-aim stole your mouse input in the last seconds
- horrible UI, at least on pc. doubleclicking, hold to do thing, stuff all over the place and behind multiple layers. A straight downgrade to even the first game
- performance. my more or less state of the art hardware performs waaay worse than the first one did and can't really see where the graphical upgrades should be? It really looks 'just' like a reskin (which is still super pretty and stylish)
- EU version has/had completely hosed up sound. No voicelines / barks without .ini tampering. Not the biggest problem but it completely ruined what should've been an atmospheric beginning and felt a bit amateurish tbh

Sure sure, lots of 'could be fixed after beta' points. I was probably simply expecting too much, but for now it feels exactly like the start of Div1 back then, like they didn't learn anything since then. I already have Anthem for 'Lets check it out after the obligatory 6-12 months of fixing' - thought I could hit the ground running with Division 2 but it seems like another slow burner to me.

I'm not going to try and discredit you on this one as I've seen a few complaints but on the other hand I'm running an i7-4770 16GB Ram and a GTX 1070 and I'm getting a dead solid 60FPS at 1080p ( I don't have a fancy monitor ) with Ultra settings in DX11 - I tried DX12 Rendering but it was giving me momentary hitches much in the same way it does in TD1. Otherwise my experience has been that it looks and runs better than it's predecessor ( with the exception of the NPCs in cut scenes close up looking like wax dolls ).

Not sure I agree with this, I certainly don't feel Massive have thrown the baby out with the bath water and its comforting to see that a lot of the little improvements that were introduced after the release of TD1 have been carried forward, I don't think this is quite a Destiny 2 release kind of situation - but it's disappointing to see some of the bugs from TD1 still around.

I hope they are a viable option at end game. The usual problem with shotguns is when they're good they end up dominating PVP, and then they get nerfed which affects PVE.

It’s probably the most difficult of the new legendaries. The boss fight at the end is insane. One suggestion is the get everyone at the cover by the door the enemies come out of. When they come out use some CC and focus fire on the medic. Dropping him makes the rest of it easier.
