I like everything made by the HP enterprise hardware division like the proliants, microservers, elitebooks z-workstations and so on. Someone put a lot of thought and care into those designs, they are very modular and repairable.

the consumer hardware is absolute garbage for idiots though

the new elitebooks seem pretty legit, actually

trackpoint, non poo poo screen, Ethernet port,,,

the trackpad is still nowhere near a 15 year old iBook but it can’t be helped

two complaints for my elite book:

- the trackpad sucks sweaty nut sacks. I use a mouse

- the video driver crashes for no reason. not sure if this is a hardware thing or not

other than that p happy with my work elite book

Dell Precisions have been and are still awesome, especially the full size like the 7510/7520.

Dell still gives you the Owners guide that includes full teardown instructions, and it has 4 RAM slots instead of two, the newer ones have the option of getting a Quad core Xeon, and MXM III slot for graphics.

HP has been starting to paywall driver/firmware updates if you are out of warranty coverage.
