They are generally solitary, except for a small colony off Jervis Bay, where a few dozen gloomy octopus have gathered together to have stupid fights over nothing.

Here are two clips from a livestream of a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) diving off the coast of Australia last year (shameless self-plug for the Ocean Science & Exploration megathread over in SAL, where I frequently spam alerts for these sorts of livestreams).
