I just zipped through some highlights of his. He has the demeanor of a guy waiting for the bus in the rain. I figured a punch sport athlete would be a little more animated but I did the stoic, understated attitude.

I recall a few years back a young cricketer was Randy Jonhsoned out of existence by a crazy fast bowl straight to the dome. And then a week later one other guy got smashed in the face but managed not to die. Cricket - not even once.

It took doctors a total of 300 stitches to close the six-inch wound. 2 people at home watching the game had heart attacks because of it. I've got Malarchuk's autobiography, and that part of it is terrifying. And Sabres backup Jacques Cloutier got to finish the game standing in the giant patch of his blood. And from what my parents told me, not only did everyone watching the game see it live, the news replayed the footage during their broadcast that evening.
