Isn't there like, an actual principle where with certain skills, you actually get WORSE for a brief span while learning because you know the principles but are failing to execute them, but you're focused on them enough that you look worse at it than a rando? I thought that was a thing.

I unironically think that Rising Phoenix started with an interesting premise i.e. a lot of martial arts being less viable because of no live sparring, etc. but goddamn he went into crazy town FAST. Seems like a nice enough dude though and I hope his journey brings him something positive even though it won't ever bring him wins.  Also a lot of the arts that would never work in a real fight look cool as poo poo, don't @ me. loving love martial arts movies with goofy as hell overly dance-y unrealistic fights.
